Yes, yes I am! That is me and my wife and my buddies 69 Skylark. It's our favorite wedding picture, hehe, we have a poster size framed print of it hanging in our living room

Well...once I got my steering wheel reattached to my rig and out of my lap (what a bummer) I was two laps down and decided to just run as clean a race as I could but then the rain came and that was the end of that.

...new plan...put rain tires on and just try to stay on the track surface...nope...that didn't work either.

....OK...slow down and just try to follow the pack...nope...ain't gonna happen.

as I was trying to figure out the next option (like maybe pull to the side of the track for a little shut eye) I noticed there were less people racing...???...twilight zone like...people were just gone!

Hmmm...maybe attrition was going to be the new plan ???

...I think I need to practise my wet weather racing until I can comfortably keep the friggen car on the surface!!!

Kevin at the beginning of the race you were giving me a solid run for my money.
Until your wheel came off you were providing a solid challenge!

Ok, if Kevins wheel fell off, and his mic was on, how many others went off track as he was talking about it? I know I would have, I am laughing now just imagining what he would of said! :D

Hmmm...are we running Monaco this evening ?

Hey Brian...you had to be there...my wheel has a self-centering setting...so as it was falling off it was trying to return to center
which made for some interesting wrestling maneuvers to get it back on the stand...all while trying hard not to wreck Jason's car !!!

Note to self....include "checking the wheel bolts" in pre-race checklist !!!

Well!!!

After spending most of the morning conversing with Sony and members of the GT5 forum I finally have my three monitors back up and working as they should...what a headache!!!

Even managed to back up my system onto one of the others for safe keeping.

I have been booted off the server a total of three times so far...with error codes...80710102 + 807101ff and another that I missed...man if it ain't one thing it's another!!!

Sure hope things get better as the day goes on. :? :P

Now back to eating...

I'm currently checking the pictures on the F1 website. There is a picture there of the pull rod suspension of the Ferrari, but I just don't get it how that works. What is being pulled? I should have paid more attention in kinematics. See you all tonight around 7:45pm.

When everything was working for you Kevin, you were one of the fastest guys on track!
Hope you get your technical issues resolved soon.

It was a pretty good night. As usual an early unscheduled pit stop put me behind. Rob and I had some good battles, for what ever reason we are always on the same lap (crash too much). I switch to softs pretty early, and I was going faster then the rest of the field, but being 2 laps down and it dried up really fast, it wasn't enough. I was doing 1:26's pretty consistantly, with a few 1:25's, my fastest was a 1:24.8. Because I fail to find the time to practice, I'm always a little cautious in the first few laps and braking way to early for the corners. Which translates into me getting hit from behind, and sending me to the pits.

On a side note, where the hell is the spell check button?

I wasn't able to get the kids to sleep before 8:40 or so (both have the flu), and the wife is sick also, so I thought that the risk of getting in the middle of a race and having to drop out was enough that I wasn't going to jump in. It's a pity, I love running Monza...

Great race. Had a early lead as usual. Dont really know how i pull it off but it seams to work. Jason caught me on lap 18 i think we both pitted for softs at the same time and he proceded to pull away from me. Would have have 3rd but kevin's wheel must have died or something came un glued because he Rammed me from behind and blew me up on the 3rd from last lap. by the time i got to the pits jason had crossed the line and i couldnt pit to fix it so Alex caught me and took my 3rd place  Good race though.

Another feature we haven't replaced yet.

I just use Firefox or Chrome and add in dictionaries as needed.

MY appologies to everyone in the race.

Yes It was me who ran into the back of Scott and me again who ran into the back of Rob and it may have been me who ran into the back of Trevor(but I left the race with more then half the laps remaining).

I was having technical issues in the race that again I wasn't having in practise which caused most of those issues BUT...I found it very frustrating to be coming up to pass cars on the track that appeared to be damaged and still trying to drive as fast as possible only to set up the pass and in the last possible moment they would dart about the track. :?

Maybe it's just me not having more cars on the track when I practise... :?

Again my appologies.

Kevin I wasn't blaming anyone but myself. I was rearended in the first race for the same reason. The darting all over the track has to do with my connection issues, I think. If your braking point is later then the car in front of you, there is a good chance that you will hit them. I couldn't touch your lap times, you were fast. Whenever a faster car was approaching me I always let them by, unless it was Rob, then he had to fight for it.

Yes it was a good night, i managed to get a good start mostly by luck and driving very very cautiously, but once the track starterd to dry i was done for. I was outdriven and couldn't hold my place. But after some bad luck for other drivers i was able to hold 3rd....and then came Trevor haha. As soon as you said "here i come alex.." i pushed just too hard and spun out, lucky that i didn't take any damage though. Then it was a case of pit battling for 3rd. We were both running very similar lap times so it was a good back and forth.

I'm not looking forward to Monaco though, the few laps i did after Monza made me shudder...i am going to have to get a good amount of time on track for me to be comfortable driving this one.

Laid down some practice laps in Monaco tonight. I think I can do 1:20s consistent until my softs wear out after 13 - 15 laps. I went into the low 1:19s once or twice. I had been driving with my TCS on 5 and no rear brakes. I changed my brake balance and removed all but 1 on the TCS, modified my suspension from stock and seemed to get faster. Time will tell. Whats a good time on this track? 1:17?

Updated the schedule on the first post to reflect the first Monza issues.

I've only put in those 3 practice laps that we did on Thursday night.
Best was a 1:18, but the car isn't setup for Monaco. With a proper setup I think 17s or maybe even 16s will be possible.

Few things to mention, as we all know there is NO RUNOFF at Monaco.
If you crash or are moving slowly be sure to alert everyone via the radio and move off the racing line.
There is no margin for error on this track.

Hmmm...when you come out of the tunnel and down the hill is it OK to have all four wheels run over the curbing?

I put in a few practise laps and went online to race with a few F1 cars to see what it was like with other drivers(they were lapping in the 1;13's) and I found it very hard to drive cleanly...too many pinch points in the track and it gets very busy when you are watching your review mirrors at those speeds.

Surviving the first turn and then the first lap maybe the key to finishing well on this track.

I will do my best to play fair and drive clean...but I think my reflexes may have been effected by these drugs...bummer!
