To open up some new cars some cars will now be availble in 2010 & 2011 trim (due to the different paint schemes)

To determine which cars can become available I need the following people to specify what car year they are driving....

sailor923 - AJ Allmendinger #43 FORD FUSION 2010 / 2011?
sharrod - Jeff Gordon #24 CHEVROLET IMPALA 2010 / 2011?
?AlexR - Denny Hamlin #11 TOYOTA CAMRY 2010 / 2011?

I'm gonna be on for a few hours today running Laguna and HSR. I was on for a while last night, and found the NASCAR to be more stable than the Z06 Sunday night!! I just wish I could adjust the gearing, it's totally wrong for Laguna Seca...

In what world are these NASCARs more stable than the Corvettes?!?!
I just did a few laps on the HSR, 1:01.5 was my best (on softs)

Very twitchy and the softs are gone within 5 laps.... this is going to be a fun interesting series!

Ha, my Corvette in the last two races was twitchy as hell, hence my 2 in a row last place finishes. I was almost ready to quit the game for a while after those... Then i got into the NASCAR and did 2 25 lap races in a row at Laguna with no wrecks on hard tires. Got me happy again :D

A few reminders for tonight:

-DO NOT MODIFY YOUR CAR AFTER PURCASE
-Racing starts at 9pm sharp (I should be online by 8pm for practice)
-I will be recording the races, but if someone else could record them to help me with points calculations (and photos?) that would be greatly appreciated.
-We will be running HEAVY DAMAGE. If you lose it (and/or wreck) please call it out on the radio immediately! Get your car stopped and do not move until all traffic has passed. If you're on your way back to the pits, stay offline as much as possible and on the ovals stay low.

Sweet, 9pm start, I won't be late now!! As to the heavy damage, at least we won't have to drive the 'Ring with a full damaged car!!

For all the people that picked a NASCAR I'm surprised we didn't have more competitors last night.

Last night started well, despite the slight tap/damage I took to my right rear on lap 1, I was able to overtake Alek and keep pace with Steve and I felt like I could easily win the race, but I dropped a tire after my first pitstop and slammed the wall on the far side of the track. I limped back to the pits and changed my strategy. Running only softs now I was able to catch Steve at a rate of 1 second per sector. When I left the pits I was 50 seconds behind Steve, with the race 1/2 over. I knew I'd need to stop again. I was 25 seconds behind him by my next (and final) pitstop. Coming out after the pitstop I was back to 50 seconds behind him, but I knew he needed to pit. After his pit I was only 18 seconds behind him. I knew that 8 laps pushing on softs would be asking a lot of the tires. I managed to get within 8 seconds of him with 2 laps left before the tires let go. At that point I knew Alek was close behind so I just focused on bringing the car home on bald tires.

High Speed Ring was going really well. I made a good start, was up as high as 2nd or 3rd after the first few laps. I had a good run thanks to the draft on JB & Steve in the high speed banked section, but JB slid up and collected me as I was passing him. Lots of smoke, sparks and major impacts later my car was completely wrecked and I limped back to the pits. It took me forever to get back to the pits (I was lapped before I made it back). This time I decided to go with hard tires. I managed to get as many laps out of them as I could when I switched to softs for my final stint. I made it as high as 4th, but ended up in 5th.

Surprisingly we didn't have as much carnage as I was expecting, however I feel that ovals are going to be a sh!t show.... lol

Hehe, I seen our wreck a little different. I spent the last half of the left hand sweeper at half throttle so I wouldn't run over Steve, I went a little low for the next turn, and out of the corner of the rear view I seen you flying up, and then I was spinning into the wall with the whole car wrote off. You kinda made it sound like it was my fault we wrecked, but I'm pretty sure it's up to the passing car to make the safe maneuver when its open!! Either way, we race again Sunday, see you then!!

Ok ladies.

All I saw in my rearview was a couple cars flying through the air. I'm sure we can get some picture or video evidence for the 'competition review board' to make a judgement on.

I'll have to watch the replay.... I wasn't pushing hard, in fact I was keeping back hoping you and Steve would wreck.

Haha, I'm not trying to sound upset, I was just telling my side of the story!! I stand by what I said last night, just a racing incident! I really don't care if I get hit, it's only pixels, doesn't cost me a thing to fix!!

LOL... I just watched the replay. The rear end of your car was %#@!& (before the accident), I'm not sure how you were keeping it on the road. I'm not upset and I wasn't blaming you for the racing incident, it's just from my view it looked like your car slid up the banking. Probably due to the lack of rear end on your car at the time. Where did you take that damage?

Here's what I saw.

I tried to get the car stopped as quickly as possible but I think I collected Alek when I hit the outside railing (the 2nd time).

Wow, I wish I saved the replay... I had no damage up until the wreck... and on my screen I didn't slide up like that, as I could see you in the rearview the whole time. Kinda reminds me of the first damage I got at the first of the last endurance race at the ring, I never got hit on my screen, and got damaged. This time I was apparently in 2 different places at the same time, where I was on your screen, and where I was on mine. I'm going to have to chalk that up to the crappy internet I get out here in the sticks.

**edit** In that clip, it almost looks like I turned right when you got up close the car moved up that fast!! No matter what I DIDN'T do that!!!

This is what I hate about Nascar, with their sticker mufflers and sticker headlights and goofy wing welded on by monkeys:

JB you could see from my view how it looked like your car slid up the bank an into me.
Your car didn't "teleport" but it did move awful fast so yea it could definitely be just bad internet.

Did anyone else save the replay? Does it show anything different?

No biggie, just wondering how different everyone's view of the same incident was.
Obviously when your driving you can only drive according to what you see on the screen and you just have to have faith that it's correct.

Alek, that first pic, is that before or after JB and I made contact?
I notice his right rear bumper already has a dent in it.

Hey Jason, that was before contact. The bumper has a dent because I looked at the accident a number of times.

Ah yes and visual damage (and skid marks on the ground) doesn't reset on the cars when you rewind.
