The hosting only allows 3 cars, so if most people would prefer the Roadster or Solstice over the MX-5 please let me know and I can change it.

FYI, here are the World Record (WR) iRacing lap times in the above cars. Interestingly, they are all very close to one another!

58.493 - Mazda MX-5 Cup (Not the Roadster)
58.097 - SCCA Spec Racer Ford
57.311 - Skip Barber Formula 2000

Why does it cost money to join this race ???

It shouldn't, I thought it only requires you to buy the car if you want to drive the car.
It's also not letting Varga join because it says he's ineligible for the race.

I think I know what's happened... You guys don't own the Skip car, so it won't let you in. However, there should be an option to download it (at no cost) so you can join the session, but you just can't drive the Skip car.

I know this was the case when I raced the Riley in a mixed class with the Mustang. I don't own the Mustang but could join in after downloading the "Required Content". Look for a "Required Content" button...

However it looks like due to the tourny settings Varga can only watch, so we are going to leave this room and Brian Weatherbee is going to host another one.

I feel bad after inviting you to compete and then neither of us can get in.
I wonder if I go into a 'test" session (and a steering wheel next to my name comes up) if you can click on it to join me on our own track of just Miata's?

Sorry about that Stacy...in the end I just bought the download and ran the Miata anyways...bummer!!!

As it turned out we just started a new race udner Brian W. name and waited to see if you would/could log on...

Darren and I tried both Jason's and Brian's race ...and ghosting them too, but without owning a Skip Barber car (or finding this secret button) we couldn't get in

Probably a good thing as I'm sure he would have kicked my butt 1st time out

It seems the "required content" button only appears for regular iracing series, not hosted races. So it looks like no one could join without owning the Skip Barber car.

Sorry about that... We didn't realize that would be the case. Next time well have to make sure that we only include cars that everyone owns (or agree to purchase).

I wounder if they had tried to an official session that uses the skippy, would have gotten the content button , downloaded . Then joined our session. Just a thought.

That would probably work, but to my knowledge there currently are no official mixed series which use the Skip Barber car.
