Sometimes you see things that make you go Hmmmmmmmm....Well last nights race was just one of those times.

Stacy was getting ready to race the 16 cylinder crazy machine and he got 1st position on the grid....now usually your car gets fixed between races and or practise sessions but for some reason stacy's car did not.

Image

So off we go...into the unknown...not knowing we were going to witness a complete shift of physics. Now there was some bumping and grinding going on...

Image

Alex and Stacy were going at it like cats and dogs and then it occured......

Image

Stacy's car took flight....and man did it go....

Image

From where I was in the pack I thought he was going for heavens......

Image

Eventually Stacy decided to rejoin the race but not without some minor wounds to his ride......

Image

Things that make you go Hmmmmmmmmmm!!!! :? :orglaugh:

I had a front row seat.... Stacy and Alek were both pushing/grinding into each other fighting for the same space for 2-3 seconds.
Then it was like something gave, and Stacy just shot upwards! Weird physics glitch I guess!

That's the 2nd time in 2 nights Stacy has been airborne!

It was extremely entertaining, you always expect fireworks in the first turn, but when the cars launch into the sky, it's something else!!

I did not see Stacy nor Varga in two races and had no idea what kind of cars they were driving. GT5 needs to get their sh.. together and fix this online glitch.

Man, that is weird. Everyone was there on my screen. I agree with you though, Sony really has to get their s**t in order and figure this stuff out.

Alex...did you notice any issues with your car...like hard to turn or ....?

Just asking because on my screen there was another car and it looked like both of you were having steering issues!! 8O

I had no steering issues whatsoever, what is weird is that my car is banged up on your replay and it is perfectly fine in my replay

If you let the replay "play" any damage to cars, or skid marks on the ground will remain after it's rewound.

That's why Stacy's car in Kevin's pictures looks like sh!t on the grid, Kevin probably watched the replay and then rewound it to get the start and take photos.

It's just a bug in the GT5 replays.... but hey, at least you can rewind now!

I must say the next race was much better...I had a 2010 Viper...orange...and it was a treat to drive.

Even managed to lead the race for 6 laps....

Image

...and I was having a good battle with Varga in the audi...

Image

...Then I made a mistake...kept my foot planted when the car got light...

Image

....with a race this close well...by the time I got out of the gravel...4 people had passed me!!

Image

What a "bummer Dude".... :( :P

Whew... I'm glad to hear it wasn't me getting all out of shape in the Cobra being lapped ahead (unless Kevin had to lift because of me) that was responsible for you not getting a well deserved win!

Stacy

That orange Viper is a good car once you get used to the balance of it. I was having a great race at Autumn Ring with it, but it was no match for Varga's Ferrari, or my habit to push to hard when passed for the lead, causing last lap meltdowns. If I'm not catchin, I'm wreckin...I'm still working on that

Looking forward to racing tonight, if I can stop watching the last half of the 24 that I recorded today.

The countdown begins.....

Stacy...nothing to worry about...Varga had the pressure on and I was making mistakes...he would have passed me anyways.

...and you looked like you were having way too much fun in the Cobra... :P :P

...and before Jay exited stage right...he was Mr cool in his Ferrari.....

Won't be there tonight. Had a very busy weekend and I am a little too tired to concentrate on driving.

Barring the GTR Godzilla, the R8 I had for the Laguna Seca race is my favorite car to have!! The Audi's 4wd is the only reason I won that race instead of finishing a lap down!! And the last few laps of racing with Varga in the battering ram and Jason in the Countach was some of the most entertaining laps I've done since I started racing online!!

Stacy did go airborne again.... I wonder if he collects frequent flyer points or air miles.... hehe
(Credit goes to Varga for that joke and for giving Stacy wings this evening)

Starting the night out with the 71 426 hemi Charger didn't help my night much, and having to get up to answer a call and letting the wife drive aside, it was quite a fun night of racing! I'm glad it all happened in the first race!

I wonder if the shuffle was turned down from 10 would there be less difference between the cars at the start of the evening? Either that or do a "qualifying" shuffle race to get cars more even for us all? It would the faster of us a slower car and the slower of us a faster one to even things out much quicker. I find the first race of the night is generally won by which car you get. OR we can completely leave the format alone, as it seems to be working for me pretty well!!!

That was an epic 2v2 4 car race we had going on at the 'ring.... Varga, Jason B, Alek and I.
No one was going to catch Kevin (TRUE STORY)! ... so it was a battle for 2nd place... and mostly a clean battle too!

It was a blast!! On another note, the pics of the '71 getting smashed up proves to me that I'm not letting my wife drive again when I take a phone call, I may have been better off leaving the car on auto-pit!!!

WOW....looking at these pics I can see what I missed...looks like a real close race going on.
I was driving some kinda Evo I think and it was tailor made for my style of driving...everything I asked it to do it it did and then it said "we can go faster you know!"....so we did.

Now that Acura NSX I had was a real handfull...too much oversteer for me.

Can't wait until Thursday to have at it again!

I just tried to login and it worked for me, however since it's highly likely we are going to run into issues, or people will not be able to login, we won't score points in tonight's races.

If anyone wants to and is able to join, I'm in my lounge.

I still have lots of work to do to be competitive again with the wheel! My best race of the night was the last race we did with the Lupo Cup car, even though at one point my car was a landing strip, and knocked to the back, hehe, I was able to get lots of consistent laps in and even caught back up to the pack with I think the lowest PP car in the bunch!
