Hello all,

Our second series of 2012 brings us 5 nights of Shuffle Races with Every Day I'm Shufflin' series.
Image

For those unfamiliar with Shuffle Racing, basically you are assigned a car at random when you enter the track. After the race ends and you move onto the next race you get another random car, but the idea is the computer assigns you a car to even out the "pack" over several races.

Event Settings:
-Grid Start with False Start Check
-Grid Order: Previous Race Results
-Visible Damage: On
-Penalty: none
-Race Finish Delay: 90 Seconds
-Mechanical Damage: Light
-Slipstream Strength: Low
-Tire Wear / Fuel Consumption: On
-Grip Reduction on Wet Track / Track Edge: Real
-No ASM
-No Skid Recovery Force
-No Active Steering
-Shuffle Settings will be 500 and 5 (So 500pp cars with a variable of 5)

Point structure for the GT5 Every Day I'm Shufflin' Series:

1st 16
2nd 15
3rd 14
4th 13
5th 12
6th 11
7th 10
8th 9
9th 8
10th 7
11th 6
12th 5
13th 4
14th 3
15th 2
16th 1

Bluetooth Headsets Strongly Recommended!
I can't stress that enough! Any Bluetooth headset will work, just make sure to pair it with your PS3. Futureshop has a good selection as well.

Schedule and Tracks
5 nights, 4 races per night. Each race will be 10 laps.
Random tracks voted on by the competitors.

-Sunday Jan 22nd- 8pm
-Thursday Jan 26th - 9pm
-Sunday Jan 29th - 8pm
-Thursday Feb 2nd - 8pm
-Thursday Feb 9th - 8pm
-Sunday Feb 12th - 8pm

Any questions please let me know.

...Sooooo...this is a serious race? No fender beating or stuffing the guy in front of you into the barrier under braking...things like that?

This could be an eye opener....more than one type of car..."Oh Yea"!! :P

Yup, serious racing.

The first race the cars will be assigned completely at random.
Then the next race the theory is that the computer gives the last place person the best car, and the first place person the worst car.
So after a few (3-4) races the field should even it's self out.

-Random cars
-No setups
-No race car downforce
-Sports Hard tires with 500pp cars

Should be interesting.....

Is there a way of having race tires?

I'm working on a NASCAR series for when the Modern Muscle Car one is done.

This is a great opportunity for me to get back into GT5. I've been too busy to buy a car for the latest series. Now I just have to log on on Sunday night...

The "testing" tonight was pretty fun!! The "best" car you can get up to if you lose every race is the XJ220, and the worst car you can get by winning every one is the 72 Life Step Van!!

Jay,

Yes no testing, no practising, no learning tracks, no car setups.... Just show up and drive!

... and if you're slow you'll get a better car the next race!

I'm out tonight. The internet doesn't work with the PS3 in the new apartment that I moved in. Hopefully will be fixed by Thursday.

Woah Woah... NO! Neither of those.

Login to GT5, goto the "cog" on the left hand side, and select Options.
Scroll all the way down to Network, and then inside that Clear Cache.

Good racing tonight folks.

Some people had their best finishes/night ever tonight.
Hopefully tomorrow I'll get the TABLE code fixed on the forum and post the results.

In other news.... 951 cars in my garage... 49 more and I get a trophy :)
I know you're over 1000 now McIntyre, but what's your number?

I'm gonna circle today on the calender, don't think I'll have any more nights with a 75% win ratio!!! I'll have to admit though, there would have been no way I would have won that third race with the Jag if we didn't need to re-boot!! That was a blast!! Varga will be dreaming about Cobra's now until the next race thursday, hehe

A few notes from last night....

-Restarting the room will erase the previous results, which will set everyone back to the same level
-The GT-R truly is GODZILLA!
-If you're name is Varga the computer will assign you the Cobra 75% of the time.

But most importantly.....

-The Yellowbird is a curse!!!!!!!! Beware the Yellowbird!

I'm pretty sure I went by one of you guys and saw your avatar driver, which may explain things

Actually the Ruf 911 can be even harder to drive as GT5 doesn't have the understeer built into the car which makes for a real ballet on wheels at 10/10th's. But boy when you master it does it ever go! You can get on the binders way later due to perfect weight transfer (My 911 wears out the rear pads as fast as fronts) ...and as my quote says below, even deeper into the corner under trailbraking to get the car to rotate. Then your on the gas earlier out of the corner to hold the slip angle and because of the weight transfer you can move forward like a skyrocket!

But this is all great in a perfect corner that isn't linked to another corner or have a bunch of cars dicing around you ...because if you lift mid-corner you spin. Why do you think I race a mid-engined 914 ('er 913 ) at AMP instead of a sexier 911?

People must have thought I the craziest driving lines going through solo II courses back in the day with my car...
Imagepic: Dave Hull

...and no don't ask me to to replicate any of this in GT5 cause I suck at virtual racing  (and I'm not all that Captain fantastic at the real thing either)

Hopefully we have a good turnout tonight, see you in a few hours.

As Peugeot pulls out from LeMans with their 908, Toyota fires up their TS030 and it sounds awesome:
