Anyone play?

I got sucked in chasing some Miata experience and it's really, really good from what I can see so far. Haven't done any races yet, just practice and time trialing.

Still running a lot slower than I expect.. I suspect I need to get a proper chair. Sobriety might help too.

It takes a while to be quick in iracing, give it time, focus on being smooth and not going off, the speed will come.

Iracing has a promotion on right now, 1 year membership for $49, pretty good deal.

A typical 3 month is $30.

Paul, which would you recommend? Iracing or GT5 for PS3?
I wanna get something rolling over the winter for fun, and not sure which direction to go. I don't have a PS3 and my desktop would need a new video card, but the rest is OK.

I once tried to make AMP for rFactor using my GPS data, but after spending countless hours it didn't turn out very good. :(

It could be done though, by someone with the right skills / time. I was using Bob's Track Builder.

I've done a couple TT's and RR's in iRacing now. This leads me to a question...

If you're lapped in a race, do you need to complete the full number of laps (i.e 25), or is your race over once you've completed your lap (i.e 24) after the lead car got the checkered flag?

I ask because the lead cars tend to slow down at stop in the middle of the first turn when they're done, which is quite disruptive if I have one more lap to complete. 8O

It should be like in real racing once you get lapped you are a lap down and your race will be 24 laps now insted of 25. Just remember to try and get lapped at the checkered flag and you'll get in all the good pictures...lol.

You're probably right. I'm just used to GT5 where you keep running.

Race is over after the flag drops and you cross the line, same as the real deal. I think if you passed someone who was finished in a crazy manner you'd have some choice words over the comm.

I'll aim for a ARMS race in early January and publish it here, and see if anyone comes.

Yet another way to promote the spec Miata series. A way to improve over winter. :)

I've been running MX5 Cup exclusively. It's pretty fun! I had an epic battle with with another racer last night... We were nose-to-tail the whole race.

It's quite the mixed field though. The top half are usually good clean drivers while the bottom half are reckless n00bs who crash at random. Thankfully, those guys usually take each other out in the first few laps, but it's easy to get caught in the middle of it; especially if you find yourself in the mid-to-rear of the grid. Having a good qualifying time helps.

Just bought it yesterday, and already I'm soaking it up. Loving the Miata Cup, but I'm more keen to get the Jetta TDI Cup. For some reason I just have tons of love for that series/school.

I'd come race that series again if I had the money and my G27 would work again.. It's not centering correctly at all.
