Thursday 9pm MerlinRPM's Lounge

Car - Gran Turismo 350Z RS
Tires - Racing Hard
PP - Unlimited

Spa Francorchamps - 10 Laps
Autumn Ring Reverse - 30 Laps - [Heavy Damage]
Deep Forest Raceway Reverse - 5 Laps

*Note we're starting at 9pm instead of usual 8pm start

I've dropped one race and reordered the others as I believe there will be a patch Thursday night (probably 11pm our time) and this will bring down the network servers, so best to get Spa in early.

Just drove Spa for the first time in GT5, it was also my first drive with the GT 350RS, nice car.
Beefed up the car, but left all suspension, aero and transmission settings default.
Did 3 laps, 2:40 (spin), 2:32, 2:30 and then called it a night.

I'm really happy with the car right out of the box, seems to need very little (if any) tuning.
Oh, and I'll be orange/silver (car color / rim color) for Thursday.

I had the 350 out the other night for about 30 minutes at Spa. It does do pretty good right away, all I did was add a bit more camber to the front and toed it out a bit. After a number of laps I had it in the 28's with the odd high 27. The practice timing is very tight though and you cant let a tire go off through eau rouge or your time is tossed.

We should try to get going as early as possible tonight, I didn't think I could make it but my hockey game is at 1045, so I've got about an hour or so to race.

The car is neutral and after adjusting the camber and lowered it 65% of settings...much easier to drive then the M3...could be with the less amount of torque it had better grip and drive out of the corners with the hard tires. Initial turn in was good.

Not sure if I can make the start again...chaufer duties call yet again.

Bright Orange with dark grey wheels.

I'm working from home until 9pm tonight, so hopefully we'll get started right on the button.

Just curious who else bought the entire DLC pack? (for $11.99)

I did. I had a quick look at the cars, and that was it. I didn't have time to get into it. I will tonight before we play.

I bought it too. I needed a few more Skylines to complete my collection. The Challenger TC looks interesting, that would make a good spec series

There is an update that needs to be installed. Anybody who sees this give yourself a few extra minutes.

Doubleday where were ya? Missed your commentary last night!

Due to some connection issues we got started a little late and shortened the races.

The 350Z RS is an awesome car, easy to drive but you can step the backend out when you want it to.

For the final races of the night we decided to go Go-Karting... and that was seriously fun!

I do have some actual pictures from the night, but it was late and I didn't get them xfr'd over to my computer.

For those wondering how to take photos, here are the steps:
-When the online race completes, go into the "Results" page (small icon that looks like a podium) and "Save the Replay". Now you can rewatch the entire race anytime you like.
-When you're bored, or what to take photos go into the Video menu (off the main GT5 Life screen
-Watch the race you want, and press Pause (Start) when you wanna take a photo. You can then go into "PhotoMode", I won't go into the full details, but take a picture and then save the file.
-Once you're done taking photos, go back to GT5 Life Screen and go into the Photos menu.
-Export the photos you want to the Playstation XMB.
-Quit GT5 and find the photos in the Playstation menu.
-Insert a USB drive and select/copy the files onto the USB drive.
-Now you can take the USB drive to a computer and upload them online.
-See how easy that is! :x :x :x

I'll be in. Sometime around 8. Doesn't matter what we drive, the 350 is good.

Triple display means you need three PS3's and three GT5 discs, in addition to the three monitors / televisions. It'd be quite the investment!

Awesome racing last night.... some really close clean battles going on!

Actually my favorite part was Doubleday's commentary, it's like we've got our own private Murray Walker!

Hmmm...me thinks Jason missed the Kevin and Scott beat'em up and beat'em down show that took place on Spa. 8O

We need to do that "before" each session...

I had a blast except for the time when I lost my rear view mirror...damn hard to see people sneaking up on you.

It was fun indeed!

It'd be nice if we started up a points series again, using a spec car and predetermined tracks. Maybe even go long form with a required pit stop or something.

I am game for that...like maybe who gets the best mileage outta the prius?...or Grand touring supercars like the DB9, jag, or the Alfa C8?

I do want to get back into a points series with a preset list of tracks, longer races, and heavy damage, however I think first we should do a simpler 3 to 5 night series with shorter races, and light damage just to get everyone back into the swing of things.

I'm tossing around a few ideas in my head.

-Spec 350Z RS
-PP Limited Hybrids (Prius / CR-Z)
-PP Limited Modern Muscle Cars
-PP Limited Miata Series
-Open PP Limited Race/Touring Cars

Thoughts?

We should restart the race mod series we were doing, those cars were pretty fun to drive. I have no interest in the hybrid series unless the cars have more power than the avg prius etc. Sounds boring though. American Muscle and Race/TC sounds good, the miata's were ok, a bit slow, but if we all used the same it would lead to good racing.

Miata sounds fun. As does a TC series.

Something different would be cool.

Who is game for tonight?
I'm thinking 350Zs again.
Any suggestions for tracks?

I'll announce the next series tomorrow. I've been testing and I think I've got something that will work. Just need to confirm it tonight after the races.
