Anyone else have F1 2011 for the PS3?

The online multiplayer is really fun (with friends).

You can also do a "co-op season" online with a friend. You both drive for the same team and try and win the constructors championship, all the while trying to beat your teammate.

That sounds pretty cool!

I'm not sure I like the "new game release every year" model though. I'd prefer they just provide updates like GT5 does. Then you only buy it once, and get more play time for your money.

I agree. Best idea would be to release a yearly DLC to bring in the new cars, driver changes, rules etc.

I think that I'll be picking up a copy, this week...

The 'off' season is approaching.

I (finally) found a copy of this at the Future Shop in Bedford.

Unfortunately, I had a hard time getting the driver controls to my liking. Codemasters usually produces driving games with good physics. but I'm not sure they're realistic. The steering is a bit too non-linear and the braking seems to be a bit crappy (with ABS on). It's probably too early to really comment, but...

This was the first time I turned on my PS3 since March, so...

What are your thoughts, Jason?

I found in that game, if you were sideways, you just hit the breaks and you were suddenly straight... :?

I still maintain that the RACE Series from SIMBIM, or iRacing, are the 2 best simulators on the market.

Yes, you've said that before. This thread is about people that own it so maybe we could get together and race every now and then. Do you own a copy for the PS3?

I've found that the graphics are not as good as F1 2010, however it appears the extra processing power has been put into physics and AI.
That said both are a big improvement over F1 2010.

Right now I've got a co-op season going with a friend of mine and we're having a great time competing against the computer and more importantly each other.

I've found that there are bugs/glitches for online play, and jumping into an open lobby some people are exploiting these and cheating, however it's blatantly obvious (lap times 10-15 seconds quicker than even Vettel can post in real life), so that's why I'm more interested in playing with friends for now. Codemasters (the markers) are currently working to fix the bugs so that's not an issue in the future.

One thing I really enjoy is driving the track before the actual race, and that way when I watch the race I know exactly where the cars are on track, and know exactly what is coming up, etc.

Yeah, I know... I guess I just keep pounding it out so that maybe someone will crack and buy it!
