I'm good with upping the laps to 5.... but I think quali needs to be at least 15mins.

Remember anytime you make a change to the car you have to exit from the pit again and do your out lap. So one change on a 2min track could take you 5mins to post your lap. (Assuming you can make your settings change and get back out to the track in 1min or less).

PS-I'll be online tonight.... anyone feel free to msg me on the PSN if you want to game. Otherwise I'll be grinding to make back some of the $16million I spent yesterday. (Merc C9, Bentley Super 8, and R89C) 8)

I did a 2:14 at the ring GP with the stock M3, but I just learned you can mod everything other than engine and weight, so I will go try again with mods.

Paul you should have stayed in last night. Me and Jason were down to 2.09.9. Come race time it was all out the window, but it was fun.

Sorry I couldn't make it.
1am on a Monday is just too late for me. That's not a good start for a week of work. Maybe next time.

Is 7pm on Thursday good for people?

Tracks:

-Rome
-HighSpeed Ring
-Monza (No Chicane)

Hopefully these courses will reduce the first corner incidents we are having.

Also FYI for any who didn't join last night.....

The horsepower restriction will be upped to 433hp.
We have found that doing and oil change and "breaking in the engine" actually generates more HP.

My stock engine M3 went from 404 to 423 after the oil change, and after racing last night it was up to 430hp this morning.

So again M3 Coupe '07, HP limit is 433 and the min weight is 1650kg. Hard racing tires only.

You guys find that this car understeers like crazy?
I have not changed any settings at all, and I find it to be a pig as is, anyone try and get the front to stick a bit more?

They key to avoiding first corner, first lap problems, from what I see, is to stay as far away from Scott and Trevor as possible, hang back and wait for them to take each other out and whoever else is anywhere near them!

I've got a setup that is working .... ok.... it's MUCH better than stock (IMHO)
I'll send the settings tonight.
EDIT: Hey wait a second.... you're already too fast! hehe

As for Scott and Trevor, I agree.
The tracks I picked for Thursday have pretty easy/wide first corners so I hope that will help a bit.

If anyone is game for trying damage and/or penalties as a test before Thursday let me know.

Yes, if you have both the PS3 and GT5 game, you can join Jason's "Lounge" and watch all the races. You can even select which driver you wish to follow, and join in the conversation and/or commentate if you have a mic.

I KNOW! I'm thinking of going out and getting one of these now! Although I would have missed both of these events, I'd certainly make it in on one of them....if I had the game. I might go visit someone while these events are happening.

NO Way, of course, I'd just try to race rather than watch if I had one....Brian, you buy it, and I'll race, and you can watch me race.

I will agree with this. Im Not quite seasoned enough in the online racing. I clearly need to work on not trying to smash people out of the way.

I also need to get some serious practice time in. My man room is in the final stages in the basement so i will hopefully get some more practice time in soon.

-Be aware of where the other drivers are (use your dpad to look left, rear, right).
-Don't "dive" into corners, if you are following someone into the corner, be prepared to brake MUCH earlier than you would if you were solo on the course.
-Use your mirrors (at the very least your rear view mirror) and the map to see when others are closing on you
-If you go on the grass, be careful when you re enter the track, make sure no one is coming.

My setup works pritty good. pushes a bunch but much less then stock settings. id tell you but................i dont want to.lol.
As far as damage gose, I am in. but i think we should run this series without it. then next series we run with it. and the next car should be the 2000 corvette Z06. Same mods allowed, same tires. Maybe exhaust if it makes them sound better.
