At the end of Preton, there is a delay before we check into the final stage.

The 30 odd running cars are stopped, engines off at the end of the lane that leads into Centre Brule.

Everyone is out, milling about. Our noise is back, more zipties!

Fortunately we carry such things with us.

With that task complete, we check in on Heidi. Of the group, she's the newest, and the this is the prime exhaustion stage of the event.

You can almost see the smile though her Helmet, she's still with it and enjoying the game. Fantastic!

As we prepare ourselves to get back in the car, a lone civilian vehicle crosses the bridge, and stops.

It's a Prius V. At slow and stopped speeds it's perfectly quiet of course... the Dichotomy is not lost on us... this very efficient model of transport..... passing in silence against a backdrop of rally beasts. It was a memorable moment.

You can almost hear the incar commentary..... much like the cleaning lady in Ghostbusters....... "WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU DOING????"

The final run of Camp Brule will be smoothish.

Dust, slippy spots, ruts developing, and that culvert that has been repaired.... only to transform it into a very poorly placed kick...

The spectators still have energy. Energy we wish we could harvest. We are nudging up against 11 hrs in the car between transit and stage, and it's starting to be tiring.

Over the finish we are... with most things still attached to the car.

It's been an event worthy of the name. We thank the time crew for our card and wish them Bon Nuit....

Back in service, our card is taken and we are shown into Parc Ferme. For the net 30min we are locked away, in case anyone wishes to protest are car. First time I've been hearded away from my steed post event, but it's part of the game.

Alan and Mal arrive, Mal inquires after knowledge anyone could share on the location of the nearest Malt beverage. FAST racing is happy to oblige.

Cal shows up and askes if I saw him. I am quite confused...

Seeing that they had the short straw on luck, they made their way to Camp Brule and were front and center for our passes.
I was unable to pick him out of the crowd it seems. I'm envious of his energy.

We have enough left to drop the tent, close the car doors and head out. It has been one exhausting day....

I open a cold one upon return to our local.

We let the others get done in the shower before I try and remove the dust and dirt coated nomex. It has always entertained me how a race suit seems to become a new layer of Epidermis during a long day. This is not always a positive.

Sunday is a breakfast day. Waffles and good Coffee are enjoyed, before we plan for Service park cleanup, and maybe some time for spectating.

This year we have a podium for our Atlantic Region. Points will count towards our championship. This means unloading our car again, but it seems a small price.

The picture of our podium, on a sunny afternoon with the beauty of the Baie des Chaleur in the background is one I'll be fond of.

Given that our fellow teams are staying in the same local as ourselves, we are able to bounce back and forth throughout the evening and swap tales.

Visitors come and go, and we make the most of our time here.

Tomorrow will be travel day.
