Anybody know where exactly and when the 2016 CAC will be? Or what club is hosting? Trying to plan next summer and haven't been able to find out the info yet. And we probably need it to set our ARMS and club event dates as well pretty soon.

I thought I heard people talking about somewhere in Quebec, but that's about 99% wishful thinking on my part.

Ontario/Quebec makes sense considering the location of the last two. If that's the case, how many of y'all would consider going?

Depends on where/when. There's a bunch of clubs in PQ and none have any info about it on their sites.

I'm looking at going to Loring too.

Quebec (St eustache?) is the very likely option. It flips west-east every year and ontario got the last one in that region. I'm sure it's still in the works and an official announcement will come by december or january.

I know a few of us have already made plans to go.

I'd also like to go to loring, but unless I can convince someone with a tow vehicle to go I'd probably have to skip it.

Thanks, Dave. Do you know the date?

I know what weekend CADL was thinking of holding the event on. Not sure if that's the weekend they settled on. I'll wait for the official announcement.

I'm sure MMSC and ARMS would schedule around Nationals, since the CAC is actually within a reasonable distance for us. WE scheduled around Loring's dates this year.

As for me, I'm in! Just gotta see if I can find a 4 car trailer and sucker everyone else into paying my fuel. :orglaugh:

Wow! I did the same thing, thinking "that's a pretty small parking lot, next to a highway." Then I zoomed out to get a bearing to Montreal. 8O 8O 8O 8O

I want to go just to see this facility.

My only question is, "What do I have to do to get on that oval?"

I'd probably be interested in getting a tow. I'd definitely be interested in having tires/tools transported for a fee.

Just remember 4 on the trailer probably means 4 in the cab.

Thanks for the info, Dave and Ming!

I'm in! (there is a small, small chance that I will be in BC for the entire month of August, but if I'm not I'll be there)

There's quite a few of us from MMSC that go to Loring. They know Slemon is held the long weekend and for the past few years, it's been the weekend after Slemon.

Can you say what weekend Slemon will be this year? Or did you just imply it.

I know, wait for official announcements, but I'm an overplanner with lots of downtime at work.

From the man himself on CASC-OR:

Quote:
Take my word- its official, and I really hope to see you guys there.

The asphalt is new and grippy. I am making sure that we get a nationals style course.
I will also make sure that we get a tour of the town- Friday night...
The venue will be family friendly- in the past it was not. details to follow.

For now- save the date.

Previous years did they have strippers and lines of coke sitting around haphazardly?
Wonder why it wasn't a family friendly parking lot before

It is Montreal....

So that's July 30-31? I ask cause people said August long weekend, and PQ doesn't have an august long weekend.

Hi All,
I just got this from CADL about the 2016 CAC
-------------------
Dear Racers
After dreaming about it for a long time, the CADL is proud to announce that the 2016 Canadian Autoslalom Championship will be held on the new asphalt of PMG Technologies. This highly anticipated event will take place from July 29th to July 31st. We assembled an all star team of organizers to offer you an excellent championship. Save the date to your calendar because this is a weekend you won't want to miss. More details to come.
-------------------------

Road trip to Nationals, then a week of lapping @ ICAR, SANAIR and Mont Tremblant. That seems like a plan to me!

Hi guys its been a while.

I just saw that CADL will run CAC on the PMG lot in Blainville and figured i should say hi and give my 2 cents. Those who know me might be aware that i have been living in Montreal since 2009 so i am familiar with this club and the facility. I would definitely encourage all of you to not miss this event because PMG is unbelievable venue and CADL is a top notch club.

Regular slalom events under CADL are the size of Slemon and they are incredibly well organized. I have been at an event where they ran 120 entries, three cars on course, six runs for everyone, and finished by 3pm. People are competitive but also very friendly. They also get CASC-OR and Delta gang for major events and in my opinion this CAC will include 90% of top drivers in Canada. If you want to test yourself against a strong field, you won't be disappointed.

Let me know if you need any local information. By the way i might be interested in co-driving someone's car in exchange for a significant sum.

Cheers,
Vlad

Thats good to hear. From watching videos from different events there it looks amazing. Flat open smooth asphalt.

I think there is about 20 ASCC members making the trip up with 14-16 cars. That is just the regulars that I see over the winter. Not sure how many MMSC guys are talking about going. I am thinking the maritimes will be well well supported there.

I've started to do some digging, but as Google is my only ally thus far, I haven't turned up much in the way of affordability. So far I've seen the cost be ~$2200 to ship only 3 cars to Montreal. I was hoping to get 7-9 on a car carrier and get it sent directly to the site for Thursday night. I was also aiming for <$500 per car, round trip. Given the fuel prices these days, it shouldn't be absurd to think that.

If anyone has a lead on this sort of thing it would be appreciated.

I can take all my tools, tires, camping gear and spares in my car. Why haul it up there if I can just drive it?

Without the camping gear I'll have enough room for Cheryl!

About the only thing that would keep me from driving it back would be popping the engine. Are you folks afraid of breaking or is it a time thing?

Try uship if you want some quotes for moving anything to anywhere. it's like ebay for shipping.

I'll be driving, it's only a long days drive and i'd like to think the car can make it both ways. That said, if there is a big truck/trailer going up with spare room for a set of wheels it could save me from bringing my trailer
