Hi All!

The first batch of photos (60 in number) is now available at:

This is an overview of the activity. The photos of individual cars on track are the same as the prints handed out to competitors. Most of the pictures are from Saturday's competition although a few are from Saturday practice and from the awards presentations. This will be followed by two more sets: one for Friday and another for Saturday. These next sets will have more photos of each car.

Nice shots Harold....sooo...did you use your 500MM to take the shot of the RX7 on two wheels in turn 5 ??

Thank you for lending me a camera (Nikon D810) on Friday to shoot a few pics. Almost burnt me hand off touching a Nikon (LOL) but in the end it was interesting to have a chance to test a few shots.

The photos are grouped by car with no attention to who was actually driving. The order of the cars is simply alphabetical according to how I described the car.

While the majority of photos are mine, a number were taken by Kevin Doubleday. The file names that start with "_DSC..." denote photos taken by Kevin. The "author" still shows up as me because he used one of my cameras. All of the photos shown below were taken by Kevin. Thanks Kevin!

Up next will be the final set of photos - from Saturday.

Harold, when I look thru those pics, I see ones that you took coming out of turn 7 with the 500MM F4 and the detail is just eye-popping to me. She's a little out of my price range though, but it sure worked some nice. Would be fantastic to play with a full RAW image from that lens.

So glad someone got a shot of McI's EVO in full flame mode. Very cool effect when it came up over 11......

What is the species and Genus of that Spyder again? (I know we've discussed this before, just such a colourful beast that I only seem to find at AMP...)

Haha, that was my son. He was snapping some pics from the tower and just happened to capture the flame thrower while entering T9a.

Hmmm...not sure about the spiders credentials ( last time Bill new what it was) but I look for them each time I am at AMP, usually corner two. That particular shot was a test of the Nikons stabilization system.
Scott, what day was the flame thrower in action as I didn't see it in turn nine, 10 or 11 on Friday ?
Scott, what file did you save that image as on the camera Jpeg or RAW ?

Its funny, I was following you on the 101>102 on ramp this morning and thought 'Man he's running rich'. Didn't see any commuting flames though!

That image was shot on Monday, but I would imagine the car was spitting out flames the whole weekend.

I pulled the image off the camera as Jpeg and cropped it. Still have the original Jpeg, but not the RAW.

I have more pics of some people's cars I will post in the coming days. Still trying to catch up after four days at the track.


Yeah, EVO X's are known to spew black smoke, even when tuned properly. Dunno why. Maybe it's a diesel in disguise.

Hi again!

The third set of photos - these from Saturday - are now posted at:

This set includes essentially all photos from the first set, and the cars are grouped in the same order - that is, more or less alphabetical, but with a first initial influencing things where there are two competitors with the same last name.

There are at least 7 photos of each driver, but the numbers vary - just depending upon how many were taken and good enough to post. But there is near duplication too, as you will see below. In this case it serves to show how consistent the driver was on successive laps.

The DVD, when available, will include full-resolution versions of all the photos in these slide shows, plus a few more, and will include photos of all the presentations.

The spider is, I presume, a different species from the one Kevin photographed, but, even though the photos was taken almost straight down, we seem to be seeing his underside in this case.

I apologize for the duplicate - forgot to trash one photo.

He was there for the monday lapping. Not during the Time attack. If its the car i am thinking off, its a Type R integra, with a K-swap in it. Not sure if he has a lapping licence or not. I know he came out to the AMP AutoSlalom.
