Can you kind folks please point me in the right direction to figure out my car class? I've got a 2014 Gt86 with some slight engine mods. In Time Attack I fall under SGT2. What's the equivalent in autocross?

That was our biggest digby turn-out. 49 sat, 42 sunday. I think next year we will bump the sat time to 11 for first run. To help get us out a bit earlier. Big thanks to everyone for picking up cones on all 3 days, but mainly sat as the plain that landed was out of fuel from what we are told. The weather was great Fri, and Sat. Sunday, not so much. rain and I was told only 12C. BOO. Thanks to everyone who stuck it out Sun. The rain and cold made it No so much fun. lol Sorry for the quick end but we figured everyone wanted to get going as fast as possible. We also had a small timing problem sunday. So Pidge is sorting it out and will send it to Ming for his check, then it will be posted.

We found a orange fold out chair, a black Stanley 13MM 1/2 drive socket, and a white glove. All in different spots. So if your missing anything let me know.

Well hopefully it was a coincidence that he landed immediately after our last run, and he wasn't just circling around above us waiting for us to finish.

Thanks again to everyone for the whole weekend, especially the volunteers that braved the cold/rain yesterday. We really had a great time finally getting some good dry-weather seat time in our new setup. Sunday was good too, to help me decide on my next daily/rain tires.

Thanks to Joel and all the other organizers, the event was a blast despite the Sunday rain. Sorry I missed the dinner on Saturday (I'm usually pretty darn burnt out come that time).

Dad had a great time and will be back again. The rain made it really interesting (and a bit frustrating) but it certainly leveled the playing field for a lot of us and made for a close finish (for those in the 2nd run group haha). The rain will play in my favor eventually.

As for the RE71Rs in the rain... Undoubtedly they have a good amount of grip, but they are a grip/slip kind of deal. It took me all 4 of my runs to figure out how to drive it. I am just not a good enough driver to catch the (very) quick oversteer breakaway and had to dial it back a lot to make sure that didn't happen. Give me a T&T in the rain and maybe I'll figure it out like I did on Friday ;P. I'll chalk it all up to lack of skill (in all seriousness). Hopefully more wet driving time will clear that up.

Anyway, here is a video of me pushing the car a little too hard on Saturday. They are a little more fun to watch.

Dev, if you can, see what your first run sunday would have been time wise. When you bailed on the stop box, I was looking at the time. It was still around 77 I think. Not sure when I looked up to see you bail. So there might have been a few seconds in between when I look. Great move by the way.

And I think we all need a T&T in the wet. I was just to aggressive, I just did a race the sunday before in the rain. So you would think I would have been smarter then to over drive my second run like I did. I should not have switch to my street tires. The NT-01s would have been much better. Even without any tread left. lol And big props to Paige for here 80 sec run sunday. Would have been the fastest RAIN run sunday without the cone she pick-up.

Thanks to all the volunteers and organisers for making digby happen again! I look forward to it every year and it did not disappoint. I hope all the newbies got hooked.



That was my first real experience driving in the wet at higher speed, it definitely takes some getting used to. I once again discovered rs3s are awful in the rain...car launched horribly off the line and the back end just came out around the first turn (the exact way I went off at AMP last year). Despite having no tread the breakaway on the goodyears was much more predictable and I should have stuck with them. I only had problems with those when I tried to stay on throttle through the lane changes and hit the paint.

Good job dev with those times...the tires help I'm sure, but you've got the driving and setup to back it up. I'm far too lazy to check tire temps or alignment at an event

I just wanted to pitch in my thanks as well.....
As more of a quiet observer last year, I didn't make it out to the Digby events but heard good things, and this year definitely lived up to the expectations!
Big thanks to everyone who organized and ran the event. I'm sure it takes more than we realize to figure out a one-day event, let alone 3 days.
I also want to say thanks to Dev and everyone else who threw some tips and tricks my way. I am definitely hooked!
Can't wait to see the results!

After St. John, I realized that the RS3 are useless/dangerous in the rain. They have essentially no grip, and when you lost it they take a long time before they start to grip again. Runs 1&2 yesterday for me were with year-old pilot supersports (at the wear bars in the rear). Afterwards we switched to brand new RE-11A's (thanks dad ) for a couple runs. supersports had great cornering grip and plenty of traction out of hairpins, but were useless at slowing the car. likely due to the narrow 215's up front and an overactive abs. RE-11A's were a bit higher grip levels, and much better under braking, even with the heavier rain at the time. It's really too bad the supersports are so expensive, I think they deserve more credit than they get. 12,000km + a season of autocross + great road manners.

I'm really impressed with the new RE71R too. their dry/hot grip is easily equal/better than the rs3 for our heavier cars. But for them to still be competitive in the cold/wet really shows how well they're built.

This was our first real autoslalom in the rain as well, and we were both pleased with the feel/grip level of the RE11A's. It was a good weekend all around, I think/hope everyone had a good time and will come back next year.

Thanks to all the organizers and everyone else that helped to make this event a success. (Including Mariah for accommodations!) I really enjoyed the course design Saturday. Wish I could have got in all my runs but I guess my seat bracket had other plans. I came with everything I needed to change tires, axels, random other things but how does one prepare for a broken seat ?! haha. Thanks to Mike for his drill and to Colin for the help in getting it fixed.

Here is the video of my run where the bracket breaks around the second turn around. It's rather funny to watch.



Here is a video of my fastest run Sunday - an 83...something.. To be honest I was so wet I didn't even go look at the results after. I left the video going to show how much water was in the main parking lot. Still lots of fun.
