Alan, sorry I entered the email address to send payments but didn't specifically say to send them via Paypal..... corrected.

You can send payments to treasurer@armsinc.ca (via Paypal).
I personally prefer PayPal.... better paper trail, less hassle on the day of the event, etc and I know who to expect.

For the first event the fee will be as posted above, however if there are issues we may increase the fees for those who register after the deadline in the future.

Competitors, once you have submitted your payment (via PayPal) to treasurer@armsinc.ca please list the following below:

-Name
-Year/Make/Model/Color of car
-Class and Car #

Thanks for the clarification Jason. One other thing, is the deadline Wednesday, June 17 or Thursday June 18 for registration?

I'm in and paid. Was just waiting on the weather.

Not sure of my class though, I start at GT4 but I'm not sure if R888s boost me to GT3 or GT2.

Can anyone please confirm if Toyo R888s are considered a "premium" r compound for 10
PIPs or are a non-premium tire for 5 PIPs?

R888s are non-premium because they have a tread pattern.

I'm waiting for final numbers from the ARMS Treasurer.
He's on the road but will let me know as soon as he gets in.

I really didn't think we were going to be hard pressed to get numbers, especially for our first event in a season where we are hosting the nationals.

I've organized this event in the past as it's always been touch and go with most of the schedule unfortunately. Heck I even remember pleading with competitors of the summer leading to the last nationals in 09 to support the schedule preceding the big event.
Rob Barker would be making this event but he's still working on getting his car back together.

Due to insufficient numbers of competitors the event for this Saturday is CANCELLED.
There will be no Time Attack or Lapping.

So, we had 8 entries, needed 12. $840 short. + 1 lapped, $80, no problem getting 10 racers for race car practice, @$40 each, there's another $400 at least. But, how can we confirm these people? It sounds like it was based on the payment of pay pal. Anyway, I see this as a major downfall for our 2015 series. I really wish it could be reversed. There's always a few more that show up for lapping, and is Matt English even on here? I thought he was building his car for this.

Sorry for the rant, I just think that it would have been successful or very very close to breaking even.

The call was made based on PayPal payments and posts in this thread.
12 was the minimum number for pre-registration and we didn't make that number. :(

Also, if I recall correctly, 12 isn't the break even point, it's the acceptable losses point.

Perhaps we should have a list of all parties interested in Time Attack and send an email mail out. A lot of people do not check the ARMS forum frequently and would just write the event on their calender and show up on the date.

I was leaving for Halifax in the morning and this would have been the 2nd time that I drove from Moncton to a cancelled event.

If you want me to undertake the mail out I will. I just need emails for possible participants.

Its not a bad idea Luc. I feel you may only gain 1-2 competitors, but a gain is a gain. There are a few that never look on here. I fear Time Attack in this region is always going to be tight. As Jason said, "A acceptable loss" may be the way A lot of these events go. But seeing how ARMS is hosting Canadian Nationals this year, I was hoping the drive would be there. No matter how much id like to see it just run, No matter what. As brian said you always gain a few the day of. You can't run events losing money everytime. Lets hope, July happens.
