Technically its still a paved surface, so more of a dirty slalom. :)

Perhaps approaching AMP and renting the tow behind sweeper would work. Or the one MMSC owns? All you need is a car with a hitch.

It's OK...it's just time and distance...and a bunch of bottles of water ! Do we have an established contact person for this "Fellowship" ? Hmmm...as I look out my window maybe shovels will be required soon. 8O 8O

BTW, last year at an event I was talking with a fella that was working on the grounds and he mentioned they are removing the "Large" rocks that encircle the parking area. Anyone hear anymore on this ?

We are trying to get permission to have a cleaner come in and I have contacted a few contractors for quotes.

As mentioned, the parking areas we use are in rough shape with dirt, rocks, asphalt, etc. The main slalom area isn't too bad with some dirt around the edges.

If we were to do it ourselves we would need someone with a dump trailer and several brooms/shovels/people. Not exactly feasible in so short a time frame.

Hey guys, first post!

I've PM'd Joel with my intent to attend but haven't gotten a reply. Does anyone have an email for him I could reach him at? I have a few questions.

Thanks!

Hello Aaron, welcome aboard.

I'm sure Joel will get back to you just as soon as he has time (hopefully he hasn't kept you waiting too long :p) Feel free to post any questions here if they are something that can be discussed in public. See you on Saturday!

Thanks! Excited to be involved.

I had a question regarding passengers. May I bring one along? He has his own helmet and such so he wouldn't be much of a bother he just doesn't want to try driving until he sees others and myself run a few times.

For competitive events your time won't be counted if you have a passenger, but this weekend is more of a warm up (school in the AM and test and tune afterwards). There are loaner helmets available, and this is probably the best time for someone who's interested but not quite ready to drive yet to get some ride alongs in. I certainly don't mind taking him around.

See you there!

- Owen

edit: He will have to make sure to sign the waiver; everyone on site needs to sign it regardless of whether they're driving, riding along, or just spectating.

Just keep in mind your helmets must have the appropriate certification. Snell M or SA rated after 2000 (correct me if I'm wrong, I can never remember)

The lot will be cleaned by a contractor and in good shape for the event.

Alrighty. I am sorry for not being on here much.

At the time, the school is full. 14 students. I am 99% sure i have sent Pms back to everyone. My email isn't the best, If you asked me to email you, check your PMs on here as well. The lot is being cleaned up this week. Alan needs a big thanks for setting that up. James, thank you for the offer as well. I think Alan emailed you. Its going to be another nice looking line-up of cars at the school. I ask If anyone can come a help sat morning for the school it will be greatly appreciated. Looking for at least 6 people to help the school go smoothly. There will be perks for helping. Send a PM or get a hold of me.

Test and tune will go as it did last year. You will work for your runs, or we will come up with shifts to be worked. This is something we need everyone to help with. If your out for a extended time, please let us know. We had a few people get shafted last year.

Weather for sat is looking good. Hope to see everyone there.

Thanks to all the volunteers, students and regulars who participated. It was a grand day weather-wise and we had an excellent turnout with 13 students and not sure how many T&T'ers but I would say around 30.

The day went fairly smooth despite the inevitable confusion of this being our first event, and everyone who wanted to got 5 runs in the afternoon T&T.

All the students did well, and we hope to see you back for our competitions starting next Saturday in the same lot.

I love how I'm dragging a cone with me in the pictures of me, thought that was great.

I had an awesome time and was pleased with my performance as well as really humbled by a lot of the other drivers, it was very cool and an amazing learning experience. I'll be coming out again for sure!
