I wonder if Rob will be there with the Skyline and Luc with the RX7? It would be great if Hiro would show up with the Evo !!

I have heard a rumour that there is a Corvette from NB that is running 1:11"s on the track and is street legal !!!

Rob, I don't know you very well, but that sounds more like
"Luc, do I need to put on my new tires, too?"

Obviously not. If Luc does have new tires they will have a close battle! Unless the Corvette shows up, then they'll still have a battle but for second!

OK...who's bringing the great big can of "Whoop Ass" to this show ?? That corvette can only run on a clean track and with that time difference it will never get such a track....too bad, so sad....NEXT!!!

Last show of the season and it's "A" game time, come on people. These are real street cars ripping up the track..."Hell yeah" it's fun. :super:

I plan on attending, does anyone know if Toyo has an end of season tire sale? My R888 s for both cars are all pretty well gone. Or any other good track tires on sale.

I've heard rumours of a Corvette doing 11's. I'm having difficulty believing it based on seeing what other well driven Vettes have done. Plus Rick McPherson laid down a :14 with a tuned GTR on 888s. A Vette running 3 seconds faster? Tough pill to swallow.
I'd love to see a street car do an :11 but until this Vette shows up and does a legit run I'll call it what it is. A rumour.

Not going to argue against your skepticism, but I did see a mylaps print out of the lap, and I've seen pictures of the car. It's not stock, and I do believe it was on something a little sticker than 888's

Likewise, Mylaps time of 1:10.722, rather insane.

Would be great to witness such a feat, but my guess is that the owner feels he doesn't need to prove anything to anyone. :P

Hmmm...lets do some math...GTR does a 1:14.777 over a 1.6 mile surface and the vette does a best of 1:10.722 which equals a difference of 4.055 seconds advantage to the vette. That advantage is about 4.42 MPH faster lap (average) and about a 26.29 feet of physical difference of when the vette crosses the line and where the GTR is in relation to the vette. Now if that vette has a crazy amount of horsepower and the ability to put it to the track surface I would say it would be possible to make that 26.29 feet up on just the front, back straight and the squirt up from 2 giving that it looses nothing to the GTR in the corners.

Bummer...I hate math (so if its wrong too bad)

The GTR also drove to the track ON his race tires, which were R888's as opposed to Hoosier A6's used on the Vette. I think with better tires and more than 3 laps Rick can take his best time back.......well, who am I kidding, if the Vette doesn't show up next weekend and beat his own time, then that record will be there until next time he tries...

Couldn't agree more. I would LOVE to see a car do a sub :11 run. That's an incredible feet with a motorcycle!

Folks,

That is a WICKED time for AMP in a GT car..... very tough to beat.... the driver deserves full cudos for a masterful job and I am confident he is capable of the outright track record for GT cars at the track. My car, at 3950 lbs with me in it is just too heavy to get down there on AMP - no matter how much power I tune it for or rubber - probably run right off at the end of the straight! LOL Trust everyone is having a great season, I lead the TT2 class with NARRA at this point and am off to Lime Rock for the next event this coming weekend, then Sebring to close out the year. I've got something under development that might prove interesting next year.... we'll see. Cheers, Rick
