I second Graham. Thanks Jason and gang for making this happen.

Quick question: MyLaps shows a Best Speed column. Can someone clarify how this value is determined?

That is an average speed for the lap. Time over track distance.

Geez Kevin, that doesn't sound positive.

Again to echo others. Thanks to all the marshalls for giving up their time to help make our events clean and safe. We all really appreciate it.

I think Kevin's talking about the Formulas who thought they saw a bulls-eye on the Turn 2 marshal stand.

Sorry...that was meant to be "tongue and cheek" funny for those that were there.

Yes...turn two was turned into a Formula BMW landing strip. I was having so much fun on the stand that I decided this kind of entertainment required some fan food so I got out the bag of peanuts and proceeded to fill my face and that's when the first "low flying" track missile decided to have a close look at the tires in front of the stand..."damn near choked to death on those peanuts" !!

I will say except for some light body damage and a little ego beating both pilots landing attempts resulted in no injuries. :D

After tinkering with distributors all afternoon I managed to get out for the last session and my first non-school lapping session. I'm sure my lines were terrible and need work but I had a blast! Thanks to everyone involved for putting it on and to Joel for the use of some ignition parts!

I seen some cameras out there, anyone have any pictures up yet?

I think someone got some still shots of you.........oh wait, they were "action" shots. :orglaugh:
I don't actually know if anyone got any pics of you but had to say that. Car looked good out there from the tower! Get Joel to show you a few lines though.

Haha funny guy. And yes I'll have to grab a few pointers at some point. Hopefully I can make it out for the next one in September.

Michael...from my view point in corner 2 if that was your first time then you were doing a hell-of-a-job. The lines thru two were a little tight and the car was pushing a bit but as you got use to the surface you reduced your speed into the corner and came out the other side on the power with a bit of wheel spin (OK, a whole bunch of wheel spin), maybe check the tire pressures. When you caught and passed "Da Vette" I could see the smile from the stand !!
I would imagine with some seat time with Joel or Paul or Rob...just not me...would prove very beneficial to your lap times. I will check to see if I have video of your car.

Thanks to the organizers/volunteers as usual! Had a great day and shattered my personal best. Here's my 1:18.6 lap.

You didn't happen to be filming when I went super sideways out of 2 did you? I forgot to hit record in the last session of the morning when I did that.

Just looked at the video and yes I did get your drift out of two and your way to deep into two and a few of the other lappers who challenge the infamous corner 2 at AMP. Now I just need to get the time to edit them. :P :P

BTW...Pidge, how can a Formula BMW open wheel car be classed in a TA with passing when they can never be on the track with other TA participants...kinda unfair advantage !! 8O

There were other cars with him on the track Kevin, also, Paul S should be in SGT3. Pretty sure he registered that way Saturday morning.

Thanks Kevin! Ya I had a hard time with corner 2. I tried it repeatedly in different gears but couldnt get a rythym for it. In 2nd I had a lot of wheel spin coming out but in 3rd it just bogged down on me. So I think I will just have to learn to take the corner a little faster with a better line to keep the 3rd gear revs up... Oh and there's a good bet you did see that smile haha. I had a blast.

Pidge, I should be in SGT3 for this event.

Hah, I'm not sure what happened when I went really deep. ABS was going crazy, usually I have really good bite in turn 2 but not that time. It's the first time I noticed all the cracked pavement on the outside there.

Sorry for the confusion. I had a few in the wrong class for this event. The four sets of results have been changed.
