Deadline for registration or deadline to know if we have enough entries? Can we one enter Saturday morning?

If the event meets it's minimum numbers today and proceeds we'll happily take stragglers on Saturday morning.

I paid last week, Rob Barker unfortunately can't make it this time, he's out west for a couple weeks. My god were having trouble finding participants for the first sprint of the year with the weather looking good? I know its more pricey than ever but the track time is a crazy amount, I bet we pay about a third compared to elsewhere.

It's not pricey, it's just more than we are used to, which is still WAY BELOW anywhere else.
I just received an invite for lapping at Calabogie, and it's $350 per day.

Well...that was fun even if I was just watching from the Marshal stand !!
Looks like Luc reduced his personal best lap time by almost 3 seconds 8O and Mike Benjamin tried everyway conceivable to get into and around corner nine as fast as possible (not all worked in his favour  ) but I always looked forward to his next attempt.
- Everyone had their "A" game going and a few actually tried their "B" and "C" games...and maybe a few others. Then there was "screech", our nickname for him. I have a new found respect for those FRS Scions, screech did everything he could to unbalance the car and each time that FRS would just work it's way thru the issue. Now it didn't help that the FRS was equipped with only a street tire (which was a Michelin brand that got abused for the entire day and showed almost no wear!) and it chose to voice its complaints at each and every corner and kink on the circuit. I was in corner 9 and I could tell where that car was at any given moment and I would cringe each time it arrived at my corner stand.
- It was not until later on, when Luc got behind the wheel of the FRS, that the tires stop complaining for the most part and the brakes started getting a workout that I saw what the FRS was able to do on the track. With the proper equipment these cars could be a real joy to drive on a track day.
- I must also add that Jonathan C and his Subaru rally car put the biggest smile on my face while I was in the turn 2 marshal stand, for the morning session. I noticed that the car looked to be giving him a little issue with stability coming thru the last part of corner 1 so I decided to watch for his arrival to see if he was getting a handle on it...WELL...let me tell you, that car arrived at the turn in point for turn one with no intention of turning any way that Jonathan actually wanted to go, for a moment I thought the WRC had arrived for a Tarmac session at AMP! It could have been that Jonathan was actually performing the proper rally sequence for power thru a right hand turn by first getting the car to turn left and then I thought no...that would only work on gravel. Looking at Jonathans face I noticed a rather concerned expression and an almost fascination at what the car was doing..."will this really work in this situation"? To his credit he did actually get the car under control and execute the rally maneuver at which point he proceeded down the hill to my position and flashed a large smile. "yeah, that's right, I'm the man !!! sure Jonathan sure.

Thanks to all the competitors for a great day at the track..."come back real soon ya hear". :D

Thanks for your help Kevin and the rest of the marshalls! It was a good day in spite of the occasional spirts of rain. Its been awhile since I had brand new ra 1 to work in, there a handful in the dry, they can be entertaining. I think those new tires Luc were using could be best termed as qualifying tires, super grippy for about 10-15 laps then fall off the cliff. Glad he was able to get the best out of them while they were at there best.

Here's my best lap. Need a new angle, what works for slalom doesn't work at AMP.

Thanks to all the organizers/volunteers/marshalls. Had a great time at my first time attack. And congrats to luc on his time!

I just wanted to thank the marshals and especially the volunteers for running this event.

I just wanted to name some volunteers that really helped the day run smooth....
-Alan for his help in the tower.
-Trevor & Joel for their tech and bus driving services.
-Pidge & Dave for Timing & Scoring.
-Charlotte for taking care of registration.
-and big thanks to Krista for Timing & Scoring and more importantly taking our difficult lunch order! ;)

Congratulations to Luc for that blistering 1:15.8 in his street legel RX-7!
Well done to all competitors for driving safely and setting some quick times on a day with constantly changing weather.

We will do this all again on July 12th, except with better weather!

Thanks for the great summary of the day Kevin! And thank you, and all the volunteers, very much for making this event a success!

Issue - what issue? Didn't you know that those things were designed to be driven sideways? That's why the engineers decided to put the dinky Prius tires on it  I'm really looking forward to the next Time Attack. Before I invest into race tires, my goal is to shave another second off the lap time on those Michelins.

BTW, Luc, I did figure out how to turn the traction control completely off :D

What exactly were these new mystery tires?

Very impressive lap time Luc. You must be ecstatic!

Thanks everyone. I had no idea what was going on when I pulled up to the tower and everyone had come down clapping.

The tires were 245/45/16 Hankook C71 I bought last year because the tire rack had 2009 production year tires on sale for $130.

BTW Nick, how did you turn the trac control off completely ?

Do the points from the passing and non passing events get combined, or are they 2 separate "series"?
