If anyone is caught speeding or reckless driving the applicable driver will loose his or her fastest time of the day (second fastest time will be used for scoring)
1.5 Clerk of the course reserves the right to drop/alter sessions. If a run session is dropped for one group then all groups would drop that same run session.
1.6 Drivers Meeting - The organizer shall call all competitors to a Driver's Meeting prior to the start of the event. All competitors are required to attend this meeting.
2.0 No passengers allowed during timed runs
2.1 Safe passing zones during practice/ instructional periods will be between turns 6 and 7 and turns 11 and 1. These will be marked with pylons. Passing is only allowed with hand signals given from driver of vehicle being overtaken. Overtaken vehicle will slow and let vehicle pass safely on the left.

Drivers are to look as far ahead on the course as possible for a waving Green Flag. Once a driver passes the location of the final Yellow flag before a waving Green Flag, then they shall resume speed.
2.7 White Flag: In timed sessions with no passing, displayed at any marshal station including the Start/Finish post only when instructed to do so by the Clerk of the Course. It informs the Driver to slow down and make space from the vehicle ahead. The lap on which this flag is displayed will not be scored. Drivers are to proceed at a pace that creates safe space from the vehicle ahead, but
does not slow the vehicle behind. Drivers are to look as far ahead on the course as possible for a waving Green Flag
2.8 Black Flag - proceed to the pit lane, stop at the first pit stall as you enter pit lane and await instructions to be given to you by the clerk of the course.

2.15 Below stock HP dyno plots will not be accepted.

3.0 Timing and Scoring:
3.1 The start and finish lines are located directly adjacent to the starters bridge.
3.2 For Time Attack without Passing competitors maybe be divided into two or more run groups. Each competitor will have a total of 12 timed runs per day, 3 or 4 sessions on track each with 3 or 4 timed runs per session.

Important Update:

-We are offering a discounted rate to Racers who have registered for the Race on Sunday: $100 (cash or cheque) or $103.20 if paying via Pay Pal for the Time Attack. This includes the Time Attack w/o Passing and Time Attack with Passing as well as the practice session. There maybe some restrictions placed on Race cars during the lapping sessions.

-We need 12 competitors (or a mix of regular competitors, race discount competitors and lappers) to make this happen.
Deadline is 6pm on Thursday June 19th.
I'm not going into all the possible permutations here, but if we don't have enough to at least come close to breaking even this event it will not occur.

2nd Important Update:

-The event is a go for Saturday. See everyone at the track!

Quick question: is a cracked windshield considered a safety item? i.e. would it exclude me from participating in a track event? There's no check for glass on the self tech sheet, so I'm not sure. I'd really like to do the time attack, but I'm not sure if I'll have time to get it replaced this week.

Cracked windshields are okay as long as there is no large "bullseye" type cracks.

CEL is for P0011 camshaft timing one of the codes that could mean a dozen things or nothing at all, but it puts it into limp mode each time it throws it. Have done all I can think of, had it to the dealer last week and taking it back again on Tuesday...frustrating

Someone want to class the Speed3? I'm lost on the Handling aspect of the PI

HP: 263
Curb weight: ~3300 Pounds

I assume based on other cars that I have seen that it will be GT2 or GT1?

Use the online classification. It walks you through everything and calculates for you.

I received an email for "2014 ASCC Summer Checkpoint". An excellent idea BTW.

However the Link "Click here to Register" for this weekend's event sent me to the Post for last fall's event. Probably explains why there was somebody posting a question this morning, about this weekends event, in a post from last year.

Also curious why it cost more, to pay via the easiest, and best way to confirm a participants commitment in advance, method of payment?
I'll pay cash event day, when I know what I'm paying for.

Hi all,
Quick question about costs. I recall that at the HPDS it was mentioned that those who are doing this their first year have a discounted cost of $100 for time attack/lapping. Would you please clarify this and what the costs would be for this Saturday for first years?

Thanks,
Nick

Sorry guys. There is no discount for first people running there first Time attack. That was done last year. We did not include that in this year. There was some talk of raising the HPDS price to cover that entrant in 1 Time Attack 1/2 price, This was a no go as we all did not agree on it. Some people dont pass and only get a lapping card. Some also have no interest in Time Attack. Just want to lap or run in schools.

Maybe next year we can make it a option. Pay a extra $100 for the HPDS and get 1 time attack in 2015 included.

The big thing was tring to bring in Passing time attack. It will give you about 4 times the track time a non-passing time attack will give you, and makes you a much better driver at the same time. You have to use those mirriors on your car. OMG. Planning laps. Looking to figure out who is faster, slower. Plan the pass so you dont lose time. Knowing if you are faster or slower, or will chassing a car get you a small draft and help your time.

Extra passing zone between 3-4, making it easier to get around people.
