That is a 1977 GMC Palm Beach with the Olds 455 front wheel drive power plant. I had entertained thoughts of using that on Sunday as I was running out of options when I could not get my mini to run.

and Just as a side note the mini is now running..seems I was trying to time it while thinking the distributor turned in a clockwise direction

That's actually a local fellow named Cody, he pulled in on Saturday while we were setting up and asked what it was all about - he was very nervous and timid at the idea and admitted he'd "never done anything like this before." I told him I'd show him the lay of the land if he found me on Sunday. He did quite well for his first time out, and over his 4 runs he improved by a full 3 seconds!

Another rodent must have got into my fathers car (shown in the middle) on the way home back to Fredericton as the fuel filter got all gummed up.


Here's the first shot I've seen of my other neighbour I've been working on to come to an event for years, anybody got any more of him?

Does it have a shift weight? The Mazda used to do it under hard load in second and third gear, but all I had to do was remove the shift weight and everything was fine again!

Matt, I don't think so. There is lots of play in the shifter in 1st and 2nd, 3-5 seem fine. I have to look into it more but from what I have read it's likely the intermediate shaft is toast.

I had that problem once. Replaced the transmission.
