Hot Buy! 8O or Salvage Car ...i'm not sure which, but if I was in the market for a touring car this Audi A5 Coupe seems to be a steal at $13.5K for a two year old $45K car?

Image Imagehttp://newbrunswick.kijiji.ca/c-ViewAd?AdId=468476057&utm_source=alerts&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=email_alerts

BTW a quick search in the States shows none less than $25K USD

That looks to be a scam, or a salvage, but even with a salvage title, its worth more than that, unless its badly damaged.

I sent the link to my daughters fiance in Bathurst to see if he recognized the parking lot ...and he doesn't think that it's from there.

Think that they will take a Nigerian cashiers check? I'll even make it out for more than the asking price

That is an Ontario dealer plate, not an NB plate. Which makes this even more sketchy. I took a quick look at autotrader, but didn't see those pics on an Ontario dealer's ad. They're probably still stolen pics though.

Edit: Yeah, the images are from ebay's image server. Couldn't find the original auction they are taken from though.

All kijiji ads pictures are hosted by ebay image servers, pretty sure ebay owns kijiji.

Huh. Didn't know that. Still going with scam based on price and Ontario plate.

Wonder when kijiji will go paypal only

Never. Kijiji is meant as a private sale sit, and judging by their warnings all over the site telling you to exchange money in person, PayPal doesn't seem to be in the roadmap.

We had an incident here in Saint John a year or two ago where somebody posted an ad on Kijiji for a big screen TV for sale.

The buyer went to the address the seller provided and found the guy sitting on the front steps of the house. The conversation then went more or less like this:
Quote:
Hi are you Fred that has the big screen TV for sale?
Yep, that's me ...you got the cash?
Yes I do
Stick 'em up!

and the guy who randomly chose a house that he knew the owners would be away from ...robbed the buyer of his money and fled :orglaugh:

I was joking. E-bay has gone paypal only, and if they own kijiji, then that's the next step.

Stacy, I've heard of that happening too. It may be overly cautious, but I always meet to buy or sell at a well lit gas station or Tim Hortons. Even if I'm selling, I'm worried that they'll say "no, that's too much" and come back and steal it the next day.

Here is the response I got when I asked to go look at it, great big ole SCAM!:

Hello

This vehicle has absolutely no mechanical problem, the exterior has no scratches, rust or dents and
the interior is like new, no accidents.
The price includes shipping and handling . I am selling it because I've
relocated in Europe and it is too expensive to import it here. It is still in Canada at a warehouse,
in Whitehorse YT ready to be delivered to its buyer with all the documents.
Because I am not able to close the deal myself, I want to use a third party to handle the sale. This
way we are both protected.
Let me know if you're interested and if you have questions.

Thank you,

I'm not sure if the term "SVO" applied to Capri like it did for the turbo four Mustangs :?:

...Heck, I didn't even know that the Mercury's were available with that engine but yet here it is for $1850 in Fredericton: http://fredericton.kijiji.ca/c-cars-veh ... Z495033537

An Porsche 928 for sale on Kijiji for $5K (...not saying it's a great price, but maybe there is room for movement?)

"Perfect, unmolested 911" might be a bit of a stretch

...but what a great candidate for a widebody conversion for $8500? (...or backdating into an RS?)

I thought about going to have a look while at Slemon ...but I have way too many projects on the go already 8)

A can or two of long-strand fiberglass body filler and some duplicolor would fix that right up! :P

Any new additions for this thread? I'm in the market for an impractical winter ride under $3500, preferably something within about 300 km from Sackville. Fuel injected RWD car with a manual trans highly preferred

My daughter just bought a WRX and I'm trying to convince her to sell her Porsche 944 (She's just like me in not wanting to sell anything )

Fuel injected, 5spd, RWD and a hoot in the winter with the 50/50 weight given that the transmission is in the rear (although we added two bags of sand for more weight).

PM me for details and I'll forward you on to her agent, er... fiancé
