Just got confirmation that we can use the Moncton Coliseum for an Autoslalom on September 1st. September 8th is still a bit tentative, however we may be able to hold another event at the Coliseum. Pre-registration for the event is open. Pre-register online for $12.50 or $15.00 on-site. If the event becomes a regional, expect the price to increase $5 to cover the regional levy.

The schedule for the event is as follows:

Registration: 10:30am
Scrutineering: 10:30am
Driver’s Meeting: 12:00pm
First Run: 12:30pm

You can pre-register for the event using MMSC’s online entry form.

Right on Ming. That lot is very nice.

I am sorry to say I hope it does not become a regional event as I most Likly can not make it as I already made plans for this weekend. I thought the next regional was the 29 with MMSC. Just don't think it would be fare to make a event a regional one with just 5 days notice.

Wow, that's short notice!!!

I am just down the road, hopefully I can make it over, got other things planned this weekend too!

When we were in Maine for the Loring event, did you listen to local radio?? they were playing an ad for the event! Sounded great, and is likely the reason for all the new people at the event... have we ever looked into running a radio spot for our events?..... We should have a kijij ad done up again too.

I agree, this should not be a regional as is too short of a notice. I doubt if we will make it either.

Agree that it shouldn't be a regional. That said, I am going to make it because I've never been at an event there. Do you use most of the lot?

Hmm, now I have to decide between lapping on Monday or driving to Moncton on Sunday. Tough call.

Is this a big venue? I've never been to the Coliseum.

Bring the new beast, Scott! The more the merrier. I will try and make it, but it depends on a few factors. Would be fun though!

Pulling a regional out of thin air 4 days before the event seems ludicrous to me...... Just my $.02

I can't make it either.

12.2.1 Event Status and Permits:
1. All A.R.M.S. Regional status AutoSlalom Events require a permit to be issued to approve event
status. Organizers shall apply for permits no later than 60 days before the date of the event, and shall
include permit fee, performance bond and proposed Supplementary Regulations when applying.

and

12.2.2 Notices and Publicity:
1. For all A.R.M.S. AutoSlalom Championship events, supplementary regulations which include all
pertinent information about the event type, location, date, times, and any special instructions or
restrictions shall be mailed to all A.R.M.S. member clubs no later than 30 days before the date of the
event. The A.R.M.S. AutoSlalom permit number shall be quoted on the supplementary regulations.

Although it says "mailed" which is out of date, we are still supposed to have 30 days notice of a Regional event. Looks like neither one could qualify as a Regional.

I agree with everyone on here. Very short notice. Would not be fair to make this a regional event. A lot of people, myself included, require more than a few days notice to get time off work. I won't be able to make this event either.

Make it if possible, one of the smoothest and largest lot we rarely get to use anymore.

It is a big lot - you can see it in this news vid from an event last year:

It won't be a regional event, for the reasons Alan stated above.

However that said, don't let that deter you from attending this wonderful venue.
Regional or not the Moncton Coliseum is one of the best pieces of pavement in Atlantic Canada and an event there is not to be missed!

Even at idle it was spinning the slicks :?

But rain or shine it is the nicest parking lot in the Region!

If you have never been to the Coliseum to run an event... "GO"

Its as close as it gets to running a perfect parking lot event in this neck of the woods !!

Whatever else is going on...drop it...and head for Moncton !!!

That news footage was painful, but everyone else seems to be making a very valid point. Screw the lapping, I think I'll go to Moncton instead.

Is next week confirmed? A mechanical issue is preventing me from going this week.

Here's a vid of one of my runs - I think it was in the first run set since my phone started restarting randomly during the second set. Apparently the new Xperia Z is not just a lemon, it also sucks at taking videos! :(

I had a blast! Very fun course, fast & flowing. Most people were hitting 3rd gear. And as Dave said, all 8 runs were in the dry despite the gloomy weather forecast. Glad I made the trip!

Nice run Tyson. Nice looking course too. I always like that lane change at the far end, however, that is the first time I saw it from that direction!

I see on the MMSC site that you have Sept 8 scheduled as a club slalom.......is it confirmed for the Coliseum?

Still waiting for confirmation. My understanding is we can use the Coliseum parking lot if no one else books it and that no one has told me that it has been booked.
