At least with the Cat it may get there quicker than the current 3 1/2 hours crossing (and that's not including the one hour pre-arrival time like at an airport). For pete's sake I can see Nova Scotia from here! ...and yeah Mike, unfortunately that is the discounted round trip price to go over at what I have figured out to be 20km/hr based on the distance given by Bay Ferries :Nsnail:

However, I got to admit it is really neat to go from an industrial based city to a quaint fishing town by driving just a few miles. Besides my wife can't say I never take her on ocean cruises, it gives me a chance to catch up on the latest GRM magazine (or as the case was last year on the red eye trip, a book on Weber carbs that put me to sleep in no time ), and maybe see a whale or two...

Oh wait, I wasn't going to harp about it anymore, Sorry!

So anybody else in D Stock?

Stacy

Take the ferry as a walk-on, grab a Top Gear "fastest car in the world" in Digby (do they even have any in Digby?) and compete in H-stock! That's where the fun is.

I don't think there are any rental cars in Digby.... maybe though.
However my Pontiac Vibe will be there, but since it's so closely related to the NZ Corolla, it would be unfair to take it on the course. 8)

I have delivered the trailer to the airport. The keys are in the control room desk.
175 km from Windsor 1 hr 45 min. There is a small delay just past Falmouth for road construction on a railway overpass. Not a long hold up. Everything else was clear.
There is going to be some construction of tents and a Bar-B-Q on the grass area to prepare for the fly-in on Saturday morning. They know we are going to be driving on the airstrip.

Thanks Pidge, I just arrived in Digby myself.

Anyone passing by Sackville tomorrow on their way to the T&T?
If you are and have room for a helmet email or TXT me 9024306043..... forgot mine (for fun runs).

Thanks Evan!!!

After watching the coolant bombs last year at Digby, since then I have wanted to re-arrage the parking order before the start line. Especially with the ample space in the parking lot before the taxi way, this should be possible.
Given the 30+ degree heat again this weekend, this may be beneficial to implement.
Instead of starting and stopping your car every 2 minutes to move up a whole 15 feet to fill the space of the last car, why not try a semi circle arrangement around the start line. Have a "warmup box" and a start line. Wait for the box to become clear, and start your car once to enter.
If there is enough room for 20 cars in a semi-circle, then so be it. If only room for say 10 wide, then we can double up behind the car.
My 30 second, 11pm drawing below.
Image

Lets hear your opinions. Maybe easier to discuss this standing in the lot tomorrow at the test and tune.

Go for it but I have found in the past only people who get it will follow suit. I usually try to get a drive thru spot for that reason. You may need someone there directing traffic until everyone sees it work. Great drawing btw.

If we have enough workers one can be grid marshal and can arrange that.

I Like It

People could still put their tools next to their assigned spot on the round grid thing

I'm in room 5 (right behind my car) if people end up wanting to play a game of poker tonight
830ish maybe?

Already did. No luck. Not enough room for them plus me. Just a thought. If not I will take my car down and deliver them.

Thanks Shawn,
I was looking for a way to get them to Digby. I am taking my "other" Neon down and the tires are already loaded into the car, unfortunately, Leon will be sitting this one out.

Great weekend at Digby. Especially after I learned taking your spare tire out is not considered stripping your interior. Haha!!
The semi circle parking worked really well. Glad we tried it out.

Side note. Mother lost a silver hoop earring after the fun-runs on Saturday. Tells me it probably fell off when she took off her helmet. Could have been on the pavement or in the dirt. If anyone picked it up, with your hands and not your r-comp crazyglue tires, let me know.
If not, I guess I'll have to look next year.

Wow another great weekend in Digby! I think this was the best year yet!

First off many thanks to the volunteers (Pidge, Charlotte, Krista, Cathy and Mariah), we couldn't have run the event without you!
Big thanks to Joel & Brian for organizing and running the event, great work guys!

Finally the competitors, 28 both days this year (and 16? for the T&T), great numbers and I can only see them increasing.
Good work on the course, running for cones in that extreme heat and helping to clear and setup the course.

We will do it all again next year, so tell your friends :D

Really well-run event
Thanks guys

For some reason I still can't visualize the order that the elements were laid out on the second day
Every run seemed a new course :orglaugh:

Had a great weekend and made it home with only a minor sunburn which isn't bad considering the 30+ degrees. I also didn't hit any crows this year so that's a plus. Thanks to everyone involved. See you at the next one.

What a great weekend! Its a good thing the dates were moved back a week!(Weather)

As always, thanks to all the volunteers that make these things run so smoothly!

What impressed me the most was the second day; Jonny Mac with the 1:27 in the e30 and Dan MacPhee Paxing 3rd!
