The date has been set for CMC Loring 2013. Mark your Calendars for Aug 17/18 2013. I moved the date back a week to give more room between Slalom at Slemon and our event. I hope to see many of you there.

I hope to make it in 2013, presuming the world does not end this December.

Scott, I don't think Loring will be in iRacing by then....sorry.

But seriously Chris, after watching the videos posted here, Loring looks really fun! A nice open, well flowing course.
It seems a lot like our Digby and Slemon events.

How many participants do you normally get?

This year our numbers were off a bit due to weather and economy, 70 on Saturday and 60 on Sunday. In 2012, we had 85 on Saturday and 75 on Sunday. But we hope to rebound with a banner year in 2013. I have put the word out to SCCV (Sports Car Club of Vermont), SCCNH (Sports Car Club of New Hampshire), New England Region SCCA, and yourselves (so far).

We get better a putting this event on each year. We can easily handle 100 participants each day and still get at least 6 runs. We were cycling cars every 25 seconds this year, so despite the length of the course 1.3 miles it cylcled like a pint sized pakring lot course.

Pre-registration is open. Register for each day separately. If you don't see the events, change the data range so that it shows more events. Hope to see many old faces and some new ones this year.

I'm heading up again. I believe there are a few other MMSC people going. It's a fun event. I'll probably have to run the R-comps, not sure if I have enough left on the street tires to make it back home if I ran the event on them.

Hey, no conflicts with local events here that I can see... I've really been wanting to try this for a while now

Anybody know what SCCA class my 914/6 falls into? I assume the same as ours (...but I haven't been paying much attention to what that even is)

Thanks
Stacy

ASN Canada and ARMS adopted the SCCA classifications so the 914/6 is EM here and there. CMC doesn't quite follow SCCA, though I think the only difference is they have a street tire option for every class. I'm not too concerned about class when I'm there. They allow passengers during your runs, so I'm usually happy when they leave the car with silly grin on their face :)

Thanks, I didn't want to register in the wrong class and have people thinking that I was trying to pull a fast one...

...besides the car may be a 913 again by then really throwing everybody for a loop 8)

Any hotel recommendations?

Thanks
Stacy

I've been working on the Talon this week, and fired it up yesterday (first time in 2 yrs.)! It's running now with the old stock turbo, but not really competiton ready. I suspect a burnt exhaust valve is what melted my last turbo, and it's doomed to repeat if I push it. I need to rebuild the head but that's not going to happen this season. We're in the process of buying / selling a house, so the car is going to have to wait a bit longer.

I'm pretty sure I could write a book

BTW I see there is a few cars in XP at Loring... Doesn't my car fit there too?

Yes my GP Saab Sonett "Yellow Thunder" will be there. I will also be running my KM Shifter Kart (we allow you to run 2 vehicle each day, each vehicle does require a separte registration fee however).

I see Stacy pre-registered today. Come one come all, this year will be the best ever. If you are planning on coming, no time like the present to pre-register. This helps us forecast meals, workers, etc.

If you plan to stay at the Caribou Inn, mention that you are with the Cumberland Motor Club event (you must do this on the phone). The discounted rate is $89 (USD) per room. Also, book early as there is another event we are competing for rooms against. A half dozen or so CMC'rs have already booked there. Others are camping on the runway (which you are free to do as well).

Not looking good for the Mustang to make the trip this year, another case of life getting in the way of hobbies :). Might be there to watch / work. Or drive if someone is brave enough to share! :).

Was nice to see Shawn and Ming and the rest of the participants from Canada. I hope all of you that made the trip had an enjoyable time.

Thanks for posting the videos so quickly. The fastest cars were about 10 seconds faster (with 30 KPH higher peak speed) than Ming/Shawns runs in the videos, and the fastest kart was 20 seconds faster. For reference, in my shifter kart I hit 76 MPH, and in my Sonett I peaked at about 72 MPH (this based on rpmxgear).

When is the Candian Championship at Slemon next year. I want to make sure I leave a big a gap between that and Loring as possible.

Sure would be nice if we could get together on the timing of both events so hopefully both events could
draw the maximum participants possible...would make for some very interesting competition. !!! :) :)

...did I mention the great pictures that would be possible???

Looks awesome
Next year I'm hoping to attend Loring rather than Digby

Ming/Shawn - given that you're allowed to run 2 cars, did you consider running each other's cars in addition to your own?
