Been trying to find new lots for slalom, since I know how tough it can be.
Had a look around tonight, but it was fairly late and dark, so pictures do no justice.
If we are in need of some new lots, maybe we could contact some owners.

In no particular order,
Idea A - Dartmouth crossing Walmart excess parking space. Never used, one way in, one way out. Elevated surface from road below, only trees / dirt surrounding. Not huge and close to Sunday traffic / shoppers etc. Noise may be an issue for lot owners.

Idea B - South Burnside, Eileen Stubbs Ave, Collins Barrow lot space
Rather large parking lot, decent pavement, only a few light poles, garden planters near centre of lot, dividing into two. Not a Sunday shopping area- more a Monday to Friday part of town. Pedestrian traffic minimal to none.
Multiple entrances / nearby businesses may prove hard to block off access points.

Kind of dark, hard to tell the size of this lot. Its big.

Idea C - South Burnside, Eileen Stubbs Ave, Government buildings - "NS Government and General Employees Union"
Gated parking access, decent size, very likely no one in sight on a Sunday. Probably no one in sight any day of the week, considering the nature of employment. Probably nearly impossible to contact lot / property manager.

If lot space is an ongoing issue, I will continue to look later this week.
I'll bring this up at the meeting tomorrow night in case no one catches this - being 11pm and all.

Dan

Idea B might have a slight problem as (at least) one of the businesses in that building has workers with somewhat flexible schedules.

I use to work there. The lot is big. It would be a nice venue though. :)

This is a good idea for a topic thread. Maybe others will throw up some ideas too.

Dan. Do you plan on going to the club meeting tonight?

Would be a good place to start

I told him about it so he'd better show! I'm unable to attend unless my dentist appointment ends early.

When searching for lots I estimate parking spaces, and consider 200 normal sized spaces a minimum guideline (trying to avoid courses without any runoff, or first gear flea circuses) - before considering other problems like obstructions.

Great overhead shots

Viewpoint's map on there website has a measuring tool that can give you rough measurements. the lot off eileen stubbs is roughly 300ft by 200 ft. (Roughly)
