Great photos Aleks!

Here is how Fuji started for everyone. Starting with 13th position on the starting grid and working up to 1st position. I captured the first few turns, about 45 seconds of everyones first lap.

Interesting, from your replay, it shows me getting engine damage, I never did! It is good to know how I got bumped though, looks like I was just 3rd in the chain. I thought someone run me! Everyone just needs to keep it at 80% or so until the tires get some heat and then get after it, wrecking in the first couple turns does nothing good for anyone!!

Yea I bumped into you because a red car dive-bombed turn 1 and hit Cvicms and I, pushing me into you. Civicms took damage from the hit but I was lucky and escaped without any damage.

Also what is it with Rust Bucket Racing drivers just randomly driving off into the grass?

I think for practice tomorrow we'll practice a bunch of starts at Laguna and Nürburging. Races aren't won in the first corner, but they can be lost.

I watched most of the Fuji replay and I wanted to mention a few issues I saw:

-If you leave the racing surface, be sure the track is clear before rejoining it, especially if you have damage.
-If you have damage (especially heavy) and can't fully control your car, you should communicate that to the cars around you as a courtesy.
-Heavily damaged cars please try to stay off the race line while you limp back to the pits, there is no sense taking another car out.
-If you are being lapped, please do not race the car lapping you. Work together to get the pass made safely. The overtaking car should announce himself via chat if possible.

Lastly to those that don't have a bluetooth headset, I strongly advise picking one up.
ANY BLUETOOTH HEADSET SHOULD WORK (Futureshop had generic bluetooth headsets for $15~$20 and I think the official PS3 one is $40).
If you are having trouble getting it to work, please refer to the link below, or message me and I can assist.

Yeah, I bump someone in turn 1. then was tring super hard to get to pit. lol. I figured i could still run fairly well to pit but come to find out it was not going to happen at the speed i was driving. i think i bump steve during that and caused him to pit as well. Id say sorry but i dont want to!........... Sounds reasonable eh.

I was watching a preview for a new F1 game and it had a small graphic that showed the position of the car behind you as a small arrow that had multiple lit segments. The more lit up, the closer the car. It was pretty neat and would be a welcome addition for games that don't give you a very good sense of where exactly the cars are around you (bad mirrors). Joel I know from that video Jason posted that I surprised you by coming up the inside. I had a big run and if you had a peripheral arrow you would have seen it a bit better and gave me room (or not lol).

Steve, yes all the F1 games (I own 2010, 2011 & 2012) have the arrow and it is helpful, especially since you don't have a rearview mirror.

Not to beat a dead horse here, but i always assume if i take the inside line (assuming i get the chance to overtake lol) that the car i'm passing has no idea i am there and will turn in...just keep it in the back of your mind when making a late brake dive for the quick pass....will more than likely end up badly for both of you, or more....

But having said that its one of the problems with online racing games, and so its something we have to come to terms with. I won't be upset if i turn in and whoops i get whacked because buddy had no idea i was there, but when i get smoked from behind because someone wasn't paying attention or judged the stopping distance properly, then i get annoyed. I'm guilty of both, but it pays to back off a touch, especially in the first lap. Learned my lessons last "season" and so far i've been on the recieving end of damage. Much better feeling than dealing it out...

Also, coms coms coms...can't stress it enough. I know it sounds all hippy dippy, but we are all here to race, not spend time fixing damage in the pits...so be fair and won't someone think of the children?!

A good rule of thumb that I follow, and I know others do too, is if you see in your mirror that someone pulls to the side of you, treat the track as a 2 lane, and stay in your lane. That goes for the ones passing as well, if you dive to the inside, make sure you are slowed down enough to make the turn ON THE INSIDE, not drifting out and collecting the other person. I know I have been guilty of this before, and no-one's perfect, but repeated offenses are definitely avoidable. Also, a simple "sorry" can go a long way and let others know it wasn't intentional. If it was intentional, I don't want to be on the same track as you!!

7 of us just did a quick race, turn 1 there was no contact.

On an unrelated note, Joel & McIntyre are you two joining tonight?

I think I'm just going to admit defeat tuning this car for the front and just stay mid-pack where I'm at.

Next series, race tires! Weather / time change allowed also. I really want to run a night race on maybe Sarthe. I'd like to see a repeat of the series with the RM cars and a pp limit of around 550-580. I know you guys did this series before, but I missed it, and it looked fun. I like a series with FR, FF, AWD and MR facing off.

For now, I'm going to concentrate on getting top 5s and hoping you front runners miss a few nights!!

By the way practice went tonight...I think my lead will take a hit on Sunday.

Joel, have you tested with the wheel anywhere?

I saw a couple of Logitech Driving Force steering wheels for sale in Future Shop at Dartmouth Crossing, they are going for $170. This is the steering wheel that most of us use. You can adjust the traction control setting and the brake balance with this steering wheel while racing.

Yea I think that's the wheel most of us own.

Hey did anyone notice the new Seasonal Events?
http://www.gtplanet.net/subaru-brz-toyo ... ft-trials/

Quote:
Time Trial No. 47

PP450 86/BRZ/FR-S: Grand Valley Speedway Time Trial
Period of Availability: 2012/10/18 04:00 – 2012/11/01 03:00
Gold: Cr.250,000 Silver: Cr.150,000 Bronze: Cr.100,000

I did 1 lap and grabbed the gold/prizes, had to switch parts/detune the car and transmission was set wrong (barely made it into 6th gear at the end of the straight).

If you set a time it's then viewable to your friends. So far only Harrod and I have set times.

She likes mowing the lawn, and beeping the horn. Driving on the grass and seeing it fly up.

I just did a 1:13 plus, with the wheel, second lap. The car could use some more tuning.

Hey guys just a few updates to this series:

-Everyone will be required to make 1 mandatory pitstop per race.
-If you have won a race, you must use two different tire compounds per race (soft/med).

Hey Jason

I think the 1 mandatory pit-stop should only apply to the top 3 people in points as a handicap, and to use two different tires the soft and the medium (I don't think anybody will use a hard tire) during the race.

If everybody is required to pit then the race would be the same for everybody again.

Although I am in Florida and on my honeymoon and out o touch I have thoughts! If your trying to slow down the better drivers we should come up with a formula for applying ballast. These numbers are random from my head. If your 1 secon faster you get 1kg of ballast and so on until your not faster. Etc. if your just trying to make it more interesting I love te idea of mandatory pit stop and tire change!

I think that mandatory lesser tire for approx half distance would be the most effective....that would also include the pitstop of course...

Everyone not in the top three should not be forced to pit.

I do agree with Alek....regarding that the top three in the points for that sunday race day, should incurr the penalties...it would also take less time and energy to enforce aswell.....and by the end of the series hopefully it may produce a "nail-biter"....maybe

Jumping online now.

Lets run tonight with a 1 pitstop for everyone, but top 3 must run soft & med tires.
Everyone else can run soft/soft.

Yeah, I suggested the ballast rule at the beginning of the year. Smith said something about using the GT(?) ballast rules. The mandatory pit stop thing tonight was okay with me tonight, I'm usually having to make a pit stop due to an incident or two anyway, so it didn't change my night that much at all.

On another topic, we should have a Kart series! That was pretty fun tonight. Keep it just the way we raced it with the boost and everything on, keeps everything tight, and would be a great stress reliever series, maybe have it over Xmas break or something, where there is not much lost when you can't make it due to the holidays.
