Man I am really going to have to start practicing. lol. I havnt tried a single lap with this car on any track other then monza. lol and i did like 8 laps. Might have forgot how competitive you all are..

I set the car up the same way i set up all rear drive front engine cars. lol. Lots of rear bar, lower front bar and bump spring rates up 2 front and 2.5 rear. Oh and rear toe at 10 or whatever half of what they come with is.

Things are getting heated! Excited for Sunday! I'd be online but still helping my buddy with his quarter panels... Subaru problems

Just turned a few laps at Suzuka... only managed a 2:14.9
I feel there is more in the car, just still trying to work out the understeer on initial turn in at this point.

RACE NIGHT!! Gunning for mid pack, not going to be turning 1:44's! I'm just hoping to make it through the first lap without getting caught up or causing a wreck. Did some more laps, got a little faster, but I'm still not out of mid 1:45's, and I've only been on Suzuka on practice night, 2-3 seconds a lap slower.

I spent a couple hours in the 86 last night. Really struggling to adjust back from iracings physics. I tried developing my own rubbish setup, then plugged in Mitchell's and it immediately felt better. Best I could do is a low 1:47 @ Fuji and a low 2:17 @ Suzuka; essentially 3 seconds off pace at both tracks.

Still well within the 7% rule.... haha
It's 1:30pm now and I'm online practicing if anyone is interested.

EDIT: Keep getting disconnected, so I'm doing seasonal events, msg me if you wanna try online practice.

Question:

What are peoples thoughts if we changed Suzuka, Monza & Spa to "random weather" races?
With the new weather controls, we could always start the race dry but then have it random after the start.

I think it would add a nice bit of mix to the series, just curious to hear everyones thoughts?

Random isn't random, it just means we will have rain sometime in the race.

That setup just confirms the bogus physics of GT5. Nobody puts toe out in the back of a rwd. You'd be in the grass/weeds/trees/wall first turn.

While technically true that "random isn't random" (on a computer) it does not mean there is a 100% chance of rain during the race. I've used the random weather setting for many races ranging from 20mins to over and hour and sometimes is stays dry the entire race.

I think it's worth a shot.

Plagued with technical issues currently. Keep getting connection errors then got in when you started Suzuka. Left pit during free run and had nothing but a black screen with the gt5 watermark. Buttons and wheel worked thou so I am sorry if I got in anyone's way haha.

It was a great start to the 86 series, with 13 or 14 people joining in total. Turn 1s were a little fusterclucked but other than that great clean racing. Varga I can't tell you how much I enjoyed our battles. Fast clean and fair!

Mitch, I didn't even see you join until we were 7 or 8 laps into Suzuka.

We had 2 or 3 disconnects over the evening, but for the amount of people 12-14 that's not too bad.

I should go over the disconnect "Red Flag" procedure again:

-If you drop, once you reconnect to the Lounge please declare a "Red Flag" if you wish to rejoin the race. If you don't wish to rejoin you will be considered to take last place points.
-When a "Red Flag" is delcared, racing for position must stop. Everyone is to take note of their positions and the race will be restarted with +1 added to the remaining laps.
-The first lap will be used as a formation lap to get everyone in order.
-Lapped cars will be brought to the lead lap. Of course this is done automatically with the restart.
-The person who dropped will be placed in last position. (The reason for this is to prevent people from "quitting" when they make a mistake/take damage/tires etc and then getting to restart the race in the position they left)

I have the results on my laptop, but I don't have an Excel sheet done yet, so I'll try and get that and the results up sometime tomorrow evening.

Once again, great start to the 86 season!

^^ Hey, up to 4500 posts ^^ Do you work? Or just race and post here

I had fun tonight, there was a few times of frustration, but overall, for all the new names, I think it went pretty well. I had said I was gunning for mid-pack, and hit 4th and 5th, so I was right where I thought I'd be. I was especially happy with the finish at Fuji as in the first turn, I was trying to hang back, got a slight bump into the rear of someone else and got front damage, ran that way for 10 laps, and then dropped a tire and damaged the opposite rear corner. After the pit stop, regained 3-4 positions and was catching Aleks, but ran out of laps. Don't know if I would have had anything left for him anyway.

I do have to say, I was a bit disappointed to not have the Doubleday commentary!!

Varga is off to a commanding lead winning both races tonight. Aleks and I locked out the remaining podium positions for both races.
Joel & Steve are tied up for 5th place with Mitch nipping at their heels.

Reminder to those that were unable to run tonight or only scored a few points, your worst two results get dropped. So 6 more races, in 3 more nights, it's still anyones game!
