Big thanks to all the instructors and volunteers (Trevor, Taylor, Bill etc) that came out today to help run the Track Day/School.

We had a few mechanical failures but other than that it was a terrific day!

The new schedule seemed to work very well (maybe too well, I heard a lot of people were running out of fuel) ;)

There was some confusion in the morning over the Registration Building location. Hopefully they'll have tables (and maybe power?) next time we're there.

Speaking of Aug 6th, everyone has 2 days to register for it. We need 12 lappers to make it happen. I heard a lot of positive talk today, but without 12 registered by Aug 1st it will not happen.

Go to the link below and select "Add to Cart" to register for Aug 6th
http://www.atlanticformularacing.com/track_days.html

Once again thanks to everyone who came out today!

From what I understand, the new Guthrie building can be used by anyone, for anything, within reason. It is owned by AMP for AMP and all it's member clubs. It even came with a lockset on the door, which was quickly changed to a door that cannot be locked. Not too sure about the power, as I didn't spend much time in it @ Superbike weekend. Just an FYI.

Kevin, yes it's a wonderful building and we used it today for the classroom part of the school (which is why we couldn't use it for registration) :)

Great video Dave!

We currently have 5 people signed up for the Aug 6th Track Day, we need another 7.
Just a reminder that the deadline is Wednesday!

If you know someone who is sitting on the fence, get them to sign up otherwise the 6th will not happen!

Perfect, thanks guys!
We're getting closer to the magic number, but again tomorrow is the cut off.

Kayla and I plan on lapping on the 6th (both of us using one car). Not sure if that counts as 1 or 2. Either way if there's lapping we'll be there.

Payment sent

Also, maybe someone should send out an email to everyone letting people know about the deadline. I just so happened to stumble upon this tonight after hearing about it late today. I bet theres a lot of lappers that would like to make it out but don't know about the deadline.

Perfect, it's per car so that's great.
Right now I believe we're at 10.

It's looking good, but I'll make the final call this afternoon.

We now have 12 people, it looks like lapping is a go!
This event will run rain or shine.
Please note Aug 6th will be regular lapping only, NO SCHOOL.

In the future (Sept 1st onward) people who pre-register online will still pay $60 however those paying cash at the gate will pay $80.

Pre-registration helps us get an idea of #s which helps us better plan the day.

The weather looks good for tomorrow, only calling for less than 1mm of rain (which is really nothing).
http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/cans0143

I'm in need of a few volunteers to help me run the day tomorrow.
My normal partners in crime are unavailable.

If someone can meet me at the gate at 7:45am tomorrow to help me open up that would be great!

Another great/hot day at the track, not a drop of rain all day! 8)
Really great crew today, no issues on track, worker assignments went smooth and everyone was more than willing to pitch in a hand to get things moving! It's really appreciated and it makes the day run so much better.

Big thanks to Taylor, Jay & Alan for helping out during the day and to Joanne, Lacie & crew for providing lunch & refreshments for everyone!!!

Thanks again to everyone that pre-registered so that the day was possible.

Reminder to everyone to signup to the Time Attack weekend (Sept 1st/2nd/3rd)

Just to Clarify, Sept 1 is a normal school and lapping day (i.e. open to those with a lapping card only)? The Time Attack thread says it's a school plus Time Attack Practice day.

Jason,
Let me know if you need a hand with the school. Again I'm planning on being there for the Time Attack as well.

Yes Sept 1st is still happening, rain or shine.

A few notes regarding Sept 1st:
-The Sept 1st SCHOOL IS FULL (Still plenty of room in lapping and practice groups)
-Anyone signing up for the school from this point on will be added to the waiting list
-There will be at least 3 run groups (School, Lapping, Practice)
-Price for lapping/practice is $60 online via http://www.atlanticformularacing.com/track_days.html or $80 at the gate
-The 3 day Time Attack weekend pass/deal includes Practice on Sept 1st

BE ADVISED - Registration at the Main Gate

We will be doing all registration at the Registration Building which has been moved down beside the main gate.

Image

When you enter the main gate, please pull off to the side and enter the Registration building to register (You must come in and sign the wavier!!!) before proceeding into the paddock. THIS APPLIES TO EVERYONE (students, lappers, instructors, volunteers, spectators, etc) Everyone, must sign the wavier which will be located in the registration building until 9:30. (After that it will be most likely be located in the Guthrie Building)

Please note we will also be assigning worker assignments when you register for lapping, first come first serve.
Registration will be open from 8:30 until 9:30.
From 8am until 8:30 we will be registering the students, so regular lappers are asked to arrive after 8:30.

I've had 5 people email me in the last hour saying "it's going to rain tomorrow". I'm not sure where they are getting their forecast from. More than likely they're looking at the weather for HALIFAX and not Shubenacadie and/or Stewiacke. Any vetern of AMP will tell you that if it's raining in Halifax, it's probably bright and sunny at AMP. Someone back me up on this please.....

http://www.theweathernetwork.com/weather/cans0143

As of 2:30pm this afternoon It's calling for 40% POP (which is 60% of SUN for those that can't do math ;) ) If it does rain (which there is a greater chance it won't) they are calling for less than 1mm of precipitation. Which is basically nothing. If it was a competition event I wouldn't even switch to rain tires for that.

EDIT: It's now down to 30% POP

We are running tomorrow regardless of pre-registration #s.

However I probably won't be there (on call for work), so Bill will be running the event.

AFAIK Bill will be there between 8 and 8:30 with registration closing at 9:30.
Please do not be late.

I urge everyone to assist Bill whenever possible and be sure to report for your worker assignment promptly so that we can stay on schedule.

What are the regulations with respect to passengers? I have a friend that wants to come with me tomorrow. Based on the weather, I think they would rather be in the car than in the rain. Are there any loaner helmets available?

Thanks!
