Yeah, I find that people on controllers generally appear quite twitchy when online.

I would think you should get points for last place, as if you had a mechanical failure.

Jason...on the first one it was McIntyre's fault...he comes out of the grass and onto the road surface...but he made it look like your fault.
Damn he is getting better at this driving game !! :P

...and I'm still painting my car from the 2nd move....

Last place points.

You wanna see something weird... save a replay and then watch it from the "in car" view of someone else (not your car) the shifts are HARSH! It's like the car drives over a landmine every time it shifts.

If anything McIntyre just made a misjudgment and he just touched me every so slightly, but it was just at the exact worst moment for me. The resulting spin/crash did hurt my race significantly, but I do believe it was an honest mistake. Another "virtual" few inches and he would have missed me completely.

As for his move in turn 1 of lap 1 of R246.... I was behind McIntyre and we both saw the gap. I wasn't in a position to try it, but it was bold of McIntyre to. Yes he did make slight contact with you and Harrod, and it pushed you out and put your left tires on the kerb which coupled with your wheels cut hard right, caused the spin. McIntyre's move did result in far less carnage (pardon the pun) than I thought it would. He didn't "bean" or "punt" you on purpose and in fact his nose was ahead of yours when you made contact. I bet if your wheels weren't cut so hard to the right you probably wouldn't have spun, but hindsight is 20/20.

All I have to say is this Spec Miata racing has to be the cleanest racing we've had to date yet. Even with the newbies (Kevin/Jason B) which normally cause havoc are really easy to race with. Good job to everyone.

Well last place points are better then nothing. Last night was definitely my most competitive night. I think I finally have the car set almost right for me. On the Tokyo track I dropped a few places due to the insane draft there, not much I could do about that, and I was good for 2nd on the first race until I dropped a tire in the grass on the last lap, giving the place to Varga. And I had a few to many wobbly pops by the time we got to the NASCAR races!!! All in all a great night.

It's all fun and games until someone wins a race...

I was doing OK until I lost concentration and started making stupid mistakes..."49 years old and pumped full of medications...I could really take a liking to this game"... :? :P

Not sure how time's going to be for the next couple nights, but I might get out Sunday, Thursday is a probable no though.

I've been living in the woods for the past month, just back to civilization last night. I've been and will continue to be a sporadic participant.

So where are we with points now? I believe I'm at 120, but I couldn't remember if it was 7 or 8 of us that started the race I had to drop out of.

I have the replies saved, I just haven't had time to go back and watch them to get the results. (Yes I know I can FF them now, and yes that does save a lot of time).

Also, FYI Mt.Aki is shared for those of you who want to practice.

Looking at the pictures, is everyone using the miata TC? I wasn't planning on buying the DLC. I can get my miata over the PP limit, but I know it's probably not going to be as fast. I certainly can't get the same downforce.

Yes, everyone elected to use the Miata TC. But if you ask me, I think the '07 Miata RS is faster. At least I got faster lap times with it. I just chose to use the TC to help justify my DLC purchase.

I agree, I was turning slightly faster times with my other Miata.

I back out of the left hander in fear that I'm going to slide into McIntyre, this gives him a better launch out of the turn, but as I take my line into the turn we accidently make contact (my right rear, to his front left) this sends me up the hill, into a spin and back in front of him. No one's fault really, just an incident.
I think I've seen this move on COPS

Get the RS 07 and come join the game...it's probably quicker on some course's.

It maybe a handfull on the "jason" made up race tracks but what the hell.

I'm actually using the '89 NA special edition, just because I already had it set up nicely. Shouldn't be too much of a difference, should there? I'm using power limiter and/or ballast already with that one.

I already tried the Mt Whatever course Jason's got shared for tonight, and it was pretty hairy. I did complete one clean lap in 15 minutes....

BTW Varga, where did you play soccer? I ran XC instead of soccer (not that I would have made the team) but one of my brothers played varsity in university.

The new course that Jason has is Wayyyyyyy easier to drive then the others in the past...much smoother and it flows better.

Whatever you got Craig just bring it out to play and see how it stacks up.

The TC miata is usually about 200-225 hp.

Ah-ha. That's actually about the same power I end up running with the NA '89 to hit 480 PP. I think I prefer the lighter weight to the higher power of the NC.

With 1 night to go....

Varga continues to extend his lead over 2nd place.
McIntyre was within 7pts of 2nd place, but with no podiums tonight he's fallen back a bit.
Paul had a perfect night (the first of the series) taking all 3 wins and scoring 75pts. This puts him in striking distance of 2nd and 3rd place, but he's mathematically unable to win the overall championship.

Kevin and JasonB both drove excellent tonight, with Kevin leading several laps at Autumn Ring and holding onto 2nd for the majority of the laps.

Can't believe we are getting to the last night already! So, what's next?? I'd like to see something like the last series I seen on here with a PP limit, but a choice of cars and a variety of drivetrains, but I'm up for anything! On the other hand, my wife would probably like to have me back for those 2 evenings a week!!

Expect the full details early this week.

It will be PP limited... and it will be higher.
Thinking 540 or higher.

Sounds good to me, and I like the mid 500's. In fact, even the car we are running now I think would be a pretty competitive mid 500PP car...

Suzuka incident involving #13 & #26
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-dLcCOlQusk" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
You can see #13(red) drops two wheels on the dirt (which makes his tires dirty).
#26 (on board) stays tight but #13 turns in on him. When 1st contact is made #26 lets off gas to avoid further contact but #13 turns in again for 2nd contact.

Sukzua - Smith passing Varga
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/u24txl_UcCs" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Suzuka - Final Lap (On Board)
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/Z_ijwpf5CMU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
At the end Paul pulls hard right to avoid me getting his draft. I don't think it would have matter anyways.

GT5 - Grand Valley East - Incident between #17 & #26
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/OlzCzkawmS4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Car #26 (on board) is closing on #1 (white) & #17 (red) at a fast rate. At first it appears that #26 (on board) misjudges #17's corner speed and makes contact.

But from the on board of car #17 you can clearly see he brakes twice. Once before the turn and the second (unexpected one) in the middle of the corner.
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/cuijEhwykgI" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Grand Valley East - Incident Involving Car #13 & #26
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/wWb5iiODXdM" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Car #26 goes to the inside and makes contact with #13 on the exit.

Grand Valley East - Smith passes Varga
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/-Cp0NjFyvXc" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Grand Valley East - Final Lap
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/kuc96UwOBoU" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>

Grand Valley East - Final Lap On Board
<iframe width="560" height="315" src="http://www.youtube.com/embed/1M_lMAXK3r8" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
I call shenanigans on Varga's weaving.... he actually makes contact with me just before the line.
