The Spec Miata Championship Drivers Association will be hosting a closed course private session at Atlantic Motorsport Park on Saturday, October 22. This session is an invite only for selected enthusiasts to experience what the Spec Miata Championship is all about. This is your opportunity to get up close and personal with these fantastic Mazda Miata race cars. If you currently hold an approved Road Racing License or Lapping Card, this is the opportunity for you to drive one of these Spec Miatas on the race track and see what its all about. If you do not possess either, you can have one of our very experienced drivers, drive you around the track and have that same amazing experience.

The Spec Miata Championship Drivers Association has rented this private track session at Atlantic Motorsport Park and has acquired the necessary insurance to host the event. The session timeline is from 12:00 noon to 4:00pm, with a BBQ at lunch time. Weather is permitting. We will have three (or more) Miatas available at this session. As this is a private session, please RSVP (PM) me as soon as possible if you would like to attend. For all those licensed Road Racers that desire to drive the race cars, please contact me for additional information.

This event is a go for Saturday, rain or shine. We have several people interested in coming out for this event. If you are also interested, just let me know.

Thanks for a great day!

Lots of fun at AMP testing the Miatas! Thanks very much for letting us drive your cars and putting on such a wonderful spread of food! The Miata Canada guys also had some very nice swag there for us all! Great day lots of fun!

On behalf of the Spec Miata Championship Drivers Association, I'd like to thank everyone that came out to the track today. It was a fantastic Spec Miata track day event and a beautiful day indeed. This event became more popular than we originally intended and we were a little overwhelmed with the turnout. If anyone did not get a drive and/or a ride in one of the Miatas I do apologise.

For those that did drive the Miatas, I thank them for following the rules and respecting the cars. Well done! I dont know how many laps we did on my Miata, but she burnt close to two tanks of fuel.

Special thanks to Kevin Doubleday for providing the photographic duties and Chef John Alchorn for his non stop BBQ duties that fed us all. Also special thanks to Brad Mills from Mills Mazda and his Mazda colleaques for bringing the three new 2011 MX-5's out to the track as well as providing a huge pile of cool Mazda swag for everyone. Mills Mazda is very keen on providing support for the Spec Miata series in 2012. Stay tuned for future Mazda announcements over the winter months.

See you at the ARMS AGM in a couple of weeks, where we will award the Spec Miata Racers their Championship prizes. The prize list is awesome and will most likely grow much bigger in 2012. If you would like to know more information about joining the Spec Miata Championship in 2012, just let me know.

I would like to say Thanks to Bruce, Blu and Steve for making their cars available to us.

This magnanimous gesture belied the effort required to put it on.

It was a great opportunity to get an education and I learned a lot.
