Description: For sale is one 1992 Subaru Justy stage rally car built to 2006 C.A.R.S. Production 2 standard. This car is log-booked and has competed in the Western Canada Rally Championship winning the “under 2 litre” title for 2002 and 2006.
It has not competed since 2006 and as such requires some simple up-dating to qualify under current rules. It needs a single “stump” bar added to the roll cage above the occupant’s heads. The safety harnesses have expired and need to be replaced or re-webbed to pass inspection.
The car has been used on several Time Speed Distance rallies since as well as some rallycross on ice events.
The good news:
Car is well prepared and includes: 4x PIAA 80 competition rally lights on detachable mount. Detachable front skid plate. 1.2 litre engine rebuilt onto brand new block approx 12,000 km ago. Conversion to VW coil over front suspension and race duty rear springs. Ignition kill switch. Brantz Laser 3000 rally computer and map light. Graytronics driver to co-driver intercom. 5 point Jaeger racing seat belts (harness expired). 2x Momo Acropolis racing seats. 4 Nokian Hakkapeliitta 10 snow tires on rims, 4 Nokian Hakka Q ice tires on rims (plus one un-mounted), 4 Yokohama A035 gravel tires on rims very worn, 4 Yoko A035 gravel tires on rims very good, 4 Yoko A035 gravel tires un-mounted very good.
The bad news:
Recent professional inspection on hoist:
Requires Oxygen sensor (wire broken). Right front wheel bearing rough. Right rear wheel bearing minor roughness. Right front shock absorber blown. Left outer tie rod end worn. Right balljoint has minor play. Rear differential cross-member bushing torn. Front T/C bushings worn. Valve cover gasket leaking.
This car suits someone who wishes to enter the world of rallysport at grass-roots level. The car is very easy to work on and has proven extremely reliable. It draws a crowd everywhere it stops. Located in New Westminster, British Columbia.
