Greetings everyone! I recently relocated from Ontario to New Brunswick (Bathurst), and I'm hoping to participate in this year's AutoSlalom season. Being new to the area, and knowing absolutely no one, I'm looking forward to getting to know and being an active member in the region's motorsports community. When does registration usually open for the season?

Hello and welcome! There are a few clubs in NB, pending on which area of NB you are in. Moncton Motor Sports Club, MMSC, is based out of Moncton, NBSCC, New Brunswick Sports Car Club, is in Saint John, and Fredericton Motorsports Club (FMC) is based out of Fredericton. All 3 have autoslalom events in their respective areas, with MMSC also having events in (on) PEI. Slalom @ Slemon. Also, on NS, it is very healthy here too, with ASCC organizing events in NS. They have their Digby Double on Canada day weekend, always a great time, and also the big AMP event, held on our local track in Shubenacadie. Plus several events in parking lots around Halifax area. Many people travel between provinces for the Regional events, but lately it's more from NS to NB. Hopefully you can encourage more this year to attend the NS events! The AMP slalom is held the day before a road race, so bring a tent and stay for the weekend!
Also, what kind of car and what class are you in? And what's your name?

Oh, and usually it's the end of April or early May when things get started!

Awesome. I'll be looking forward to the start of the season. My name is Louis and I'll be running a '16 Golf R for this season, which is a bit tricky for classification because the Mk6 R is in the DS class but the Mk7 is currently unclassified. Due to the differences between the Mk6 and Mk7, I'm guessing it may be placed in either the STX or STU class, even though the vehicle is essentially stock.

Louis:

NBSCC (Saint John) has been working on putting an event in Bathurst (...although it got forgotten in our last club meetings agenda, we are looking at June 26th)

We have a contact by the name of Louizandra D. (maybe that's you?) who may be able to assist us in locating a venue. If you want PM me for his contact info?

Now that the old Walmart lot has been sold it may be easier to get, but even better would be the KCI Civic centre... Stay tuned!

Thanks
Stacy
