Well done, Ming and the entire ARMS crew!

Great to have that sort of presence "Down East".

Any chance of getting Karen Babb and/or Roger Johnson to design the courses?

Would be a huge selling point & draw for serious competitors from outside or region (and within!).

Working on it. Why? Are you going to have something ready by then?

That would be awesome, Ming.

I'll plan to attend, whether it be in my Talon, a co-drive, or my daily driver. Don't want to miss the Nationals! 8)

Well, if I don't show up in my Talon I'll likely be there in a Lancer of my own. 8)

I'm hoping to come out for this - should have at least one if not two cars to run.

My wife and I want to attend this event, but we live in Calgary -- way too much of a drive.

Hopefully, we can find some kind people to offer us co-seats for the event. RWD preferred (currently run an S2000 in BS and STR-lite).

Never raced one, but anything would be fine. We rallycrossed an old Civic for several years, so FWD isn't totally alien to us.

Nope, no relation.

On a somewhat related note.....

Will all the cars in the same class be in the same run group?

IE is there an advantage to have a tire warme......opps......co-driver?

99% sure all cars in one class need to be in the same group. Otherwise weather changes could affect times. We've had events where it has been wet for the first run group, then by the second group almost completely dry.

I think SCCA policy is to basically split the group with two driver cars. IE all two driver cars start the group, then half the single driver cars, then the second drivers of the shared cars, then the rest of the single driver cars.

I believe there is a rule that states there must be X amount of time between runs of the same car. This would apply to small run groups where everyone cycles through very quickly, and / or multiple competitors using the same car.

I'd look it up but. I'm lazy.

For regional and national events, yes. Cars will be spaced appropriately.

Hi everyone.
I'm planning to come to nationals next summer. My wife, daughter and I will be driving from Ontario. Is there a hotel/motel you can recommend near the site? If there's a place where other competitors will be staying that would be great. Looking forward to a great event and vacation.

Slemon park hotel is about 30 seconds from the site, that is where most of us usually stay. Right now it looks like reservations for 2014 are locked out online.

Yes, the Slemon Park Motel is where most of us stay. Some leave our cars at the event and walk there. It is that close.
Looking forward to meeting you!

Thanks for the quick replies. Now I just need to convince my wife that the three of us and our luggage for two weeks will fit in the 911 :D

I got a rear flat in my 911 widebody once ...and the blown tire wouldn't fit in the car
Image
The trunk was too shallow, the seat wouldn't go ahead enough to get it in the backseat, and it wouldn't even sit between the seat and the glovebox unless I turned it sideways ...and then I couldn't shift :x

Luckily somebody I knew came along with a pickup truck, as I was an hour and a half away from home at the time...

For nationals, is there a concrete book of rules and classing I can follow which will absolutely NOT change before this event? I know there are tons of changes happening, but I find the timelines on them rather confusing and can't tell what will happen when....

For example will the "stock" classes be used or the new "street"?

I always go by the SCCA rules, 2014 is posted now. Technically it would be the ASN canada rules, but as far as I know the prep rules don't change. Hell, looking at the 2013 ASN prep rules it still says "2013 SCCA® National Solo® Rules" in the footer.
