An inch leeway in the wheel diameter is nice too. Almost nobody buys stock diameter aftermarket wheels. I would have rather had 16"s for availability, but got 15" to stay stock.

it should be noted that these are only proposed changes, not concrete yet. If you think they are a good idea then I would provide feedback to the SEB here: http://www.sebscca.com/

A quick summary:

-No more rcomps. 140 treadwear limit in 2014, 200 treadwear limit in 2015
-Remote reservoir shocks no longer allowed in 2015
-Camber adjustment allowed. This is a pretty big deal for BMWs. You really need front camber adjustment to get decent grip and not just wear the edges of your tires off. From reading the fasttrack it looks like they will allow for Camber plates and camber bolts.
-Both swaybars can be changed/removed
-Wheel diameter can vary +/- 1" from stock

Kinda wish I had known this before I bought a set of coilovers. Would have just gotten some koni S/As, camber plates and a big swaybar.

Sounds like a step in the right direction! Part of the reason I don't run my daily driver (while the Talon is down) is because it's so grossly uncompetitive in stock class w/o r-comps. It just becomes an exercise in frustration, finishing dead last no matter how well you drive the car.

Plus the camber adjustment / swaybar allowance would go a long way in preventing the outside shoulders of your street tires from getting ripped to shreds.

Like, like and like.

Sounds like a reasonable class rule set.

Big like
R-comps in stock class are kind of rediculous

It's good to get away from r comps, but it will still be a tire war to be competitive.
R comps for stock classes never made sense.

You should just run SM anyway.

Bringing this back up because they have made a few more changes to the proposals.
Most importantly that I noticed, they went back to one sway bar only, and they have gone back to no camber (outside of factory range/bolts).

Weren't those kinda the whole point (other than r-comps)

Anyone know.......if R-comps are not allowed will PAX be adjusted?

I can barely keep up with the cars now that sport the $3000-5000 dollars worth of mods in the higher classes.A street tire bumps me 2-3 seconds slower and tumbles down to mid-pack overall.

I expect that PAX for the stock classes would change significantly if R-comps were disallowed for those classes

Am I reading these changes correctly: there will be two separate classes: "Street" and "Street-R"?

Street-R is basically the current Stock category.

Quote:
20.4 Participation Requirement
Effective 1/1/15. If in two consecutive Solo National Championships, class SSR fails to achieve attendance of 35 total participants in Open and Ladies, the class will be eliminated the following year

My guess is they don't want to alienate current stock class competitors and want to gauge the popularity of a street tire class that isn't as open as the street touring classes.

Next year

What I'm trying to figure out is if "Street-R" will still have sub-categories, or if every car is just lumped into one big "Street-R" pile.
