We definitely caught air but I'm also sure it was nowhere near that impressive.

Thanks so much to you and everyone else who helped out with the event, Harold. The amount of effort it requires is staggering and to see faces by flashlight at 1am still smiling was amazing!

Can't wait to see the quarry shots, the spectator area looked to be a great place to see some action.



It wasn't until the drive home that the lack of sleep kicked in. Watching a car come across the flying finish in the dark with a 10 foot trail of sparks from their brakes certainly kept the energy levels high!

Greg: you guys had a wicked spot at South Tennycape. Wonderful view with the setting sun. Doc (Radio Operator at your location) has some good pictures as well.

Gord, I'd have to admit that you and Ian were among the lower of the flyers. Here follows a photo of each car. I have not yet finished reviewing and processing the files, so these are not necessarily the highest or longest or anything special. Bear in mind, too, that many of these have been "pulled out of the dust". There was usually a lot of dust in the air; so much so that my camera and lens often refused to focus! I used manual focus for many. Then a "levels" adjustment in Photoshop was used to suppress the effect of the dust as much as possible. Generally, it is not that noticeable except for a general increase in noise and reduction of image quality - as result of cranking up the contrast.

Of the AWDs we're the lowest horsepower except for Cal and Meg, who should be pretty much the same, so that's not surprising. I think that's still the most air we've ever caught in the car though, I have to say we're quite happy with how it landed.

Here's Stage 6, Tennecape South. My rear facing camera is starting to die, the video becomes out of sync as things go on and eventually it starts glitching out to purple. Oh well, that camera has been through 60+ rallies, rallycrosses, slaloms and races. It doesn't owe me anything.

Hi Again!

OK, here are about 200 of the pictures- all from the Spectator Stages:

The pictures start with activities around the spectator area: arrival, tech inspection, drivers' meeting etc. Then we have the course opening car, some views of the spectator area during the event and then the cars in action - grouped by car number. They are not, unfortunately in chronological order. I used two cameras and for each camera they are in chronological order, but I switched cameras frequently. Also, they are not as consistent in colour and brightness as I would wish. As noted earlier there was a lot of dust and these images have as much dust removed as I could manage.
