Here are the quick and dirty details for the

Bluenose Autosport Club- Trout Lake Rally Sprint

When: Sunday October 18th 2015
Recce starts at 8am and will only be available in the morning of October 18th. It will be 2 pass recce.
Where: Trout Lake Rd, Middleton, NS. No competitors permitted on this road 60 days prior to the event.
Who: Anyone with a Rally Sprint prepared car according to current Canadian Association or Rally Sport's Rally Sprint Rules. This is a club event, you must hold a BAC membership & BAC Performance Rally License in order to participate in this event.

We have a cottage booked less than 2km from the Service area (Well, last year's Service area, unless that's changed) and we're there both Saturday and Sunday night. Food, beverages and bench racing Saturday night!

I'm taking my 5th wheel RV down there on Friday morning. A bunch of us are going to do some wheeling near Garnet's and Todd's camps. It should be a fun weekend!

So how about that event, folks? 7 cars! That's awesome! And they all made it home car-shaped!

I thought the day flowed extremely well. None of the hiccups were major and we were never idle for long and everything felt like it moved briskly. Temperatures sucked, but not much you can do about that! Made for a squirrelly car on our harder compound gravels, that's for sure!

Unfortunately we had video problems all day, got half the stages on video but the audio is useless because our intercom was acting up. More stuff for the off season to-do list! How was everyone elses' rally?

I had a great time even though its been about 12 years since I sat in the right seat! A bit rusty fore sure, and as Gord said it, a bit "Getto" on our iphone GPS rally computer app, but I was impressed at how accurate it was. Nice event and well organized and executed. Congrats to the organizers & volunteers!!!!

Who knows, maybe I need to sit in the left seat once again...

P and I really enjoyed working this event. Really cool roads/location and lots of cars.

Our only issue is that nobody has uploaded any videos! i can't imagine how some of the lower cars got through a few features, especially parts of stage 1/4.

I can post videos without audio. Maybe I'll just patch in some dubstep.

BOTH of my cameras went south ... the new one was pointed at the roof after the visit with a rock in the ditch and the go-pro on the windshield some how got set to photo mode so I have 7 pictures of the stage start crews ... Other wise we had a great event ... save from the smashed wrist on the visit with the rock ... car was great notes were great and the day flowed very well with few interruptions ... GREAT job by the organizers and volunteers !!

How bad is the wrist Steve?

swelling was so bad the x-ray was inconclusive ... nurse Doc and x-ray tech all say its broken but I think its not ... I have to go back in 2 weeks when the swelling has decreased ...get this cast off take another x-ray and get it examined to determine the damage ...

Did you hit it or prang it off the steering wheel on a wheel hit? Sucks!

that's exactly what happened Gord ...with my steering quickener I was in opposite lock left which put my left hand at my belly button palm up if you can envision that ... struck the rock on the passenger front tire hard enough to launch us across the road almost entirely and land in the ditch on the other side ... the position of my hand and the impact at that exact moment is what did the damage ... we (Dana and I ) have since located the issue ... the brake bias adjuster has seized with about 80% pressure on the rear ( that's what was causing the lock ups and throwing the car sideways when the diff unlocked under light braking) when I touched the brakes to unlock the diff and drift the car into a 5 right the car immediately snapped completely sideways and that's when all the fun started ...

Yikes! Glad it wasn't worse then! Hell of a shakedown. Still good to have you back out there!

Don't mean to knit-pick, but that was actually stage 4.

You guys looked really good through most of that. I always find that Ian looks incredibly calm when he's at the wheel.

It's a shame the video doesn't do justice of how fast you're actually going through those narrow roads.

Yeah, I was corrected but its too much work to change the video now. They all blend together after a bit!
