Conrad Gravel pit.
There were a few different interpretations of the correct route through the gravel pit. It was decided to use the stage times to seed the vehicles for Saturday.

Man did Jon ever get faster in the afternoon while most everyone else stayed the same or got marginally slower!

Our stage 6, I think the hilight stage of our day:

At the Legion on Saturday, Eugene Peters (of the Backcountry 4x4 Club) told me that some of my photos from last year were recently used for an article in the Canadian 4WDrive magazine. This included the cover and a two-page spread. There's a link here:

https://www.backcountry4x4club.ca/club- ... -magazine/

for the local club's coverage and on that page is a link to the web version of the article. The photos got attributed to him rather than to the real photographer, but that's OK; my main concern is promotion of (legal) motor sport. I think this article helps things along.

As noted in the article, the Jeep in the cover photo was absolutely covered in mud - at least when looking at it from the front. The other three sides were just a bit dusty. Yes, it did start off the day clean, so I don't know what caused this distribution of mud.

Pictures from this year soon. First up will be Sam Turner's photos from Friday evening.

- Harold

I remember wondering about the dirt distribution at the time as well. Very strange. :)

I apologize for my colourful language.

I was pretty excited about finding 20 seconds on that stage.

Mind you everyone found time so...... :P

I knew you were going to comment on that. :) I think the CRTC forgives you, but I can put a parental age restriction on the video. :D

Well, I have not yet received the OK from Sam, so my pictures from Friday get posted first at:

http://www.bluenoseautosport.ca/hmmerk/ ... SlideShow/

Hopefully Sam's - also from Friday, and including the 'Podium' at the end of the Spectator Stage - will follow shortly.

My pictures start with the Official Start at Steele Subaru, and then continue with preparations at the Conrad Bros Gravel Pit and the running of the cars. Just a few of the RallyCross at the end. Light was getting so faint it was difficult to take decent action photos.

Saturday's pictures will follow later.

Awesome Harold. Thanks as always! Love that feature shot of us except for Ian desperately grabbing at his helmet because his intercom isn't really working. :)

Here's the closest I can come to a hilight for our Friday Night stages. My notes are awful and at 2:30 I'm totally convinced we're going the wrong way (We weren't) and then about halfway through the stage Ian realizes we have a flat. Nothing to be done about that mid-stage! Press on!

Tire change begins at 5:20. Thanks to everyone nearby who helped get it swapped without even losing any time to check in and do the next run! 3 minutes flat including finding a jack! Fast work!
