We'll just have a short discussion here, what you can expect, and what a Navex Rally is all about. :)

If you have questions, this is the place!

So what are instructions like in a Navex Rally? Here are some examples of the most common:

Plain Language:

Information is presented in plain text. Changes in speed (CAS) are presented at a Distance. There may be text to describe the action.
ex: 12.34 TR@XR SI Middleton CAS72
Translation: at distance 12.34 Turn Right at Cross Roads, there is a Sign that Indicates Middleton. Change your speed to 72kph.

Tulips:

One of the most commonly used format in both Navex and Performance Rally. It draws it name from the Bulb and Flower appearance. Usually contained in a square. You begin the instruction at the Bulb or Dot. You exit the instruction on the "Flower" or Arrow. CAS, Distance and info may also be contained in the Tulip.

Accumulative Distance: The distances given are in increasing value. This is the most common method. This would be as if you reset your Odometer at the beginning of the section, and it continues to increase during the section.

Incremental Distances: The distance given is from the previous instruction.

Hints and Observations:

All the information will be provided to you. You cannot be required to have special local knowledge.

Instructions for Novice are usually fairly straight forward.

Instructions are designated or numbered in the order they need to be done.

A reading light for the Navigator is a good idea. A dome light generally does not work well as it reflects onto the inside of the windshield.
