Yes, it is definitely confirmed for the 15th. I spoke with the organizer.

Rally related things tend to not make it to the forum. BAC's website and facebook are your best bet. and RallyEast usually has the essential information as well.

And it always has been on here, up until now I guess. Lol. I never noticed that it wasn't until you brought it up. BAC and Facebook pages are filling up a lot lately though, nice for a change! Good to see you back Chris!

I try to keep the essentials on the RallyEast calendar/website as current as information allows. Seems like most of the discussion and interaction has moved to Facebook though.

Maybe just make a sticky that links to the facebook group/rallyeast in the first post? Every once in awhile people do come looking for info through here.

Agreed, someone should do that. :)

Here's the details from the BAC event on Facebook:

Quote:
Rally Cross is an entry level event, where participants compete agains the clock and the total time taken over the competitive sections of the event determines placing.

Rally Cross at Scotia Speedworld will take place on a gravel surface. The course design will be decided the morning of the event. It will consist of some straight sections with connecting corners/turns to learn car handling skills.

Competitors will need to provide on Rally day:
- 25$ per driver
- must be a member of an Atlantic Region MotorSport club (www.armsinc.ca)
- driver's licence
- vehicle registration (if the vehicle is road licenced).
- if the owner of the vehicle is not listed as the driver or passenger, a written authorization from the owner of the vehicle is required.
- for any participant (driver or passenger) under the age of majority (i.e. 18), a written permission signed by a parent or guardian.
**No part of the Scotia Speedworld event will take place on public roads, so your car does not need to be street licenced or insured**

For all other vehicle requirements, please see Section 28 of the CARS General Competition Rules found on the CARS website: http://www.carsrally.ca/ > My CARS Info > Documents > Competitors > 2015 CARS Rule Book. One of these books will be available on site of the event. If you have any questions regarding these rules, or cannot find the book, please email rally@armsinc.ca.

Schedule:

9am- Course Set-up
10am- Scrutineering & Registration opens
11am- Driver's Meeting
1130am- First Car Starts
3pm- Last Car finishes (this time is approximate given number of entries and the quality of the course).
3:30pm- Course Clean-up- **If you participate, please be kind enough to help clean up the course, the more people that help, the faster it gets done, and the faster we all get to Curly's!

I'm sure it'll be here soon.

Welcome back to the fold Chris!

Now given your eclectic mix of vehicles from past Rallycross, what can we expect this year? :)

Does anyone know if the Scotia speed world lot is clear or vehicles?

When I drove by around 2 today it was empty, except for a car hauler that was running, near the entrance.

I'm probably not going to be able to make it due to personal commitments unfortunately. :/

Any advice for a first-timer?

What to bring, what to wear? Are tire pressures as important for rally cross as they are for auto slalom?

2001 Legacy, Firestone Winterforce snows 215/60/16.

Thanks, all! See you in the morning!

Enjoy your first day!

Bring lots of warm clothes. Scotia is top of a hill, and the wind can lower the effective temp by 10c it seems. It can be a gorgeous morning in Truro or Halifax, and be damn frosty out there. Brings lots to drink for fluids, as it's easy to get dehydrated, especially in winter as you don't notice. Airport Tims is within 3 minutes by car.

Stay 35ish and play with them on pressures. The risk with stock rubber is rolling it off the edge, or sidewall damage. Take a good look on your walk around for anything that could bite. Loose class A is usually ok, but that jagged bit of slate is what might do a sidewall.

Try and help out with cone running. Scotia is a BIG lot and it helps if someone can do a stint to watch for and reset cones. Keep the day moving.

Enjoy!!

EDIT: Dave and I typing at the same time, bright minds and all that.......

Thanks guys, I appreciate any and all tips. Especially after my first run!

I expected to chase cones. Do we do shifts like slalom?

Greetings all:

I am not the official voice, but it would appear that the start time for remaining events this winter (2015/2016) will move one hour earlier.

10:00am Drivers Meeting, 10:30am start.

This is to better accommodate the organizers and logistics given the increased level of participation this year.

Further information to follow.
