So I skimmed through the rules and found no mention of a list of eligible vehicles however I remember a few people talking at an autocross event about how some are unsafe due to high centers of gravity. Luke and I are about to pick up a rav 4 and need to know for sure about this. It is only 2wd and apart from helmets I believe that is all we need? A car and a brain bucket?

Thank!

Those rules are specific to autoX. Rallycross doesn't really limit high centered vehicles, I've seen F150s and dodge durangos show up. No reason why a rav4 couldn't run either.

We've had RAV4's run regularly before as well as full sized trucks and even Minivans. Something like a lifted Samurai would probably not be allowed to run, however.

Classes are AWD, FWD, RWD and 'Prepared' which is occasionally a bit fuzzy. :) Other than that just a helmet. Loaners are on site too. Bring 'er out!

There are RallyCross specific rules both nationally and locally for the BAC Club series, its not run under AutoSlalom rules. http://www.bluenoseautosport.ca/BAC_RC_rules.pdf

Quote:
2.2 - Vehicles
a) Vehicles shall be based on a production, closed body and chassis to compete
b) All loose items in the vehicle shall be removed during the event (including from the trunk)
c) Snap-on hubcaps, detachable fender skirts and trim rings shall be removed
d) Tires shall be in good condition, with no cord or belts showing or cracks in the tread or sidewalls
e) Mechanical condition and safety of the vehicle is the responsibility of the competitor
f) Narrow high centre of gravity vehicles will not be allowed.
g) Tire studs shall be restricted to commercially available units for street tires.
h) Studded tires are allowed in all classes.
