What's the lot looking like Ming? If there's plenty of snow (looks like it in the forecast) I may "race" the ultra-high-performance Jeep. It can at least be a tow rig if we need it.

Careful, the last person who thought they were driving the "tow rig" didn't make out so well :P

Anyone want to do a ride share???

I haven't been out to look at the lot yet. There should be some snow there now. I'm hoping for more before the event.

I may be heading up depending on the weather, a change of venue would be nice and by the sounds of it the Magic Mountain parking lot is a lot of fun!

The lot is perfect !
The Upper Lot has never been plowed this winter and there is a crusty granular coat of ice pellets about 6`thick. It was supporting my 5800lb truck quite well - till I stopped to answer a phone call. (Leads to another story)

We`ll get equipment over there before Sunday and prep the course. Surely it won`t melt with the forecast and what we have lived through so far this week !!!

Go ahead and make your plans - see you Sunday.

We were out this morning and broke a trail. It should be perfect conditions for a course. We plowed the deep stuff and paddock area and the rest of the lot has a thin layer with ice beneath. No pavement in sight anywhere.

The event is to be held in the upper parking lot - the City asked us to free up the lower one...

Also making plans for a viewing area and possibly some hot chocolate to fire things up.

Looking forward to a good turnout! Sorry about the FMC conflict Dave - the Gagetown gang were the most fun to tow last year ;)

Thank you to MMSC for putting on a great event. The hot chocolate and hot dogs were a very nice touch in the freezing cold temperatures. :D

I meant to go and watch but couldn't find the time
Looks like it was a lot of fun :D

Out of curiosity, what's the rationale behind adding up all the times instead of using the fastest run (or dropping top and bottom, or any other alternative)?

During a "Rally", all stage times are accumulated to decide the overall winner. Makes you be fast and consistent! Normal rallies if you don't finish a section you are DNF'd, this way you get the slowest time, and still "finish" if something happens. Durability plays a factor in rally so on a smaller scale it should for rallycross too.
