Looking for advice for a 99 Miata for Auto Slalom and track day events.
I have a stack of 14" race wheels 7.5" wide
Is there a suitable tire for that rim size thats sticky?
Not apposed to changing tires at the event and using dedicated tires for solo.
Advice?

The tire of choice for slalom these days is the Bridgestone RE-71R perfroms well in the wet too, but I wouldn't street drive it. It's quite nicely priced too if you can get it in 225 wide on a 14" rim

As for track tires, I've totally been won over by the Nitto NT-01. Again they price out nicely but getting them on 14s might be a chore.

So after a quick Google, none of the competitive autox "street tires" are available on 14s. so you can cave and buy 15s or resort to Hoosier A7s

The Nittos do come in a 205/14 but that might be too skinny depending on your opinion of "tire stretch"

Sell 14s, get 15s. 14s and 16s are bad wheel sizes to run for competition tires.
