Pretty quiet in here. I think there was some talk at a few events of trying something different with the schedule like maybe doubling up the regionals to make them more appealing for out of towners. 3 doubles would do the trick imo. Maybe a single somewhere if that's not enough. Between club and regional solo you are looking at 15ish events. Tough to get numbers to all regionals with that many events to choose from and other fun distractions. If you made the regionals a bit more enticing we may end up increasing attendance to all instead of just select events. Looks like only 12 people made enough events to count full 6 of 7 points.

Also is there any chance of starting some dialogue with ASN Canada about possibly adding SMT to the nationals which may be headed our way in 2020? We've had good numbers the past two years, but I'm not sure how popular it is country wide. The class makes a lot of sense for street car guys who don't want to chop their car up to run massive hoosiers, but do mods like engine or gear swaps.

I'm not sure any other Canadian clubs are running 200tw SM classes. I stole the idea from SCCA clubs. There's nothing to stop someone with a national level SM build from just slapping on some 315 rivals and stomping everyone.

Sure there is nothing to stop them from doing that, but why would a national level competitor with a fully prepped SM car who normally runs on Hoosiers want to go slower? Is there any other national class available for a car like mine that is underprepped for SM but doesn't want to do the flares and big rubber? Even if I went back to stock rear end gear I would still be underprepped for SP. I'd like to find a home for 2020 if Nationals comes our way again.

It's going to be a hard sell trying to create a class for Nationals specifically because you're underprepped for the existing classes

Probably should start a discussion on hosting the CAC in 2019/2020. 2019 is the 25th anniversary of Slalom@Slemon. CAC should be out our way in 2020.

It wasn't so much as creating a class for underprepped cars, but more for 200tw cars that don't quite fit SP or SM full prep, but are too far to ST or S. It's a big jump from stock size tires to cutting fenders.

I don't know, it was quiet in here, at least there is a bit of dialogue. I'll be there either way.

I agree it's a big leap, I'm just not sure there's a good solution for it, other than to try to stay within a more limited class
I took a jigsaw to my front fenders this year to fit more tire, so I know the pain
I wish I were eligible for an ST class - I still have all the stock parts sitting around if there ever comes a reason to reinstall them

Screw it, sc'd S54 with 315's. Think that would do it? Prob get Scott to drive though.

And yes, lets talk CAC 2020. Slemon is the only logical place to have it. Shearwater while close to Halifax just isn't a good enough surface for a national.
