So, it looks like I'm going to need a new radiator for the WRX. Am I correct that if I go for an aluminum aftermarket replacement this will move me right past ST and into SP?

Not so
Street Touring is OK

Quote:
L. Engine cooling radiators may be replaced with alternate parts subject to the
following restrictions:
1. Radiator core dimensions (width, height, thickness) cannot be smaller
than the standard part.
2. Radiator must mount to OE radiator mounts.
3. Fluid capacity and dry weight of the radiator must be no less than that
of the standard part. Installation of an alternate radiator may serve no
other purpose (e.g., to allow a cold air intake passage).

But non-stock dimensions put you in Prepared

Thanks! I was skimming the regs on my phone and must have skimmed right past that section!

Mishimoto makes great Subaru rads if you don't already have something picked out. Had one in my Forester for 5 years now and its great.

I ran a Yonaka aluminum radiator from ebay and have nothing but great things to say about it.
$250 tax in to your door, came with electric fans and an aluminum shroud.

Good price for a rad with fans. The nice thing about Mishimoto is that they have a crazy warranty. They'll even replace rads damaged in wrecks.
