I think so, lots of people pay at the event.

Should also remind everyone that today is the LAST DAY to get a shirt guaranteed in your size!

I'm registered and paid. It'll be my first event of the season
Any way to see an entry list?

Sorry Mike our registration system isn't quite as sophisticated as it could be!

I registered myself and Lukas for 3 days. Turns out Lukas will not be able to make it please take him off the list. I will be there sat and Sun, but probably not on Friday.

What's the status on the school? I'm curious about when I should be arriving... I need all the test time I can get.

Pre-registration will be closed on Wednesday, but competitors can still register on site at the event. Remember you still have to come to the registration desk to complete your registration, sign the waiver and pay the fee if you have not already See you all there!

I'm looking to split a room on Friday night...if anyone has room for me to crash. I'll be leaving for Digby right after work, so I'll likely end up in the area around 9pm. Let me know if you have some space!

Hey all,
I know there isn't likely much chance, but is there anyone passing through HRM (Enfield specificly) with a passenger that would be willing to drive my truck and trailer down in time for the Test & Tune? Or even maybe drive the FiST down in time for Saturday morning. (and back on Sunday) I thought I had it figured out, but people backed out on me. For anyone coming from the New Brunswick direction I could offer a bed for Thursday night to split up the driving a bit.

Thanks in advance!

(Edit:). Looks like I figured things out, and wrangled up another competitor too!

Thanks to all of the organizers and volunteers that made this weekend happen! What a fantastic weekend! The weather was mostly great, worked out great in the end, except for Patches Chute, who got a re-run, but then the skies opened up just before lunch break. Lol.
Also thanks to the Englishs' for allowing me to run their car. Too bad I sucked. Next time, I am resting! Lol. :orglaugh:

I had a really fun weekend, thank you to the organizers for putting on an excellent event. Working the course Sunday morning, I think for the first time ever I can say I froze my ass off in sunny 20 deg weather haha. The wind was fierce!

Heard about a little hair loss on Saturday night, reminds me of my younger days at Summerside spending all night downtown at the Purple Parrot. Amazing what getting older can do to your stamina. In bed by 10pm lol. If the youngins (and Brian P) want to get serious at nationals they may want to get some sleep

Or better yet, head into Montreal and spend all night on Rue Ste. Catherines and help me out!

Thanks to the boss giving me the day off today here is a couple vids of my best runs from sat and sun. Also what is the go to external mic setup for a gopro 3? These vids sound like crap. I'm looking at a bundle from Edutige that looks like it would work well.

i've tried a couple external mic's before without much luck. one was a Sony ECM-CS3 lav mic, it sounded like crap. we had another shotgun-style mic that we tried at slemon last year but didn't sound that great either plus it was a pain to turn on/wire in and keep charged. I've just switched to audio recording with my phones built-in mic and merging it with the video. It's a bit of a pain to merge but I don't have to worry about wires running all over the place.

I've also read that the wifi, I use the gopro remote, can cause issues with the built in audio. I've run the same setup in the Vantage VW's and our M3 racer an haven't had these issues in the past. I think maybe the gopro audio is toast now or there is interference. I've also had my phone in my pocket and it pairs with the car, which is something I haven't had in the past. I use Race Renderer for editing the vids, I think there is a place to import audio, that is def something to consider.

Fantastic event, as usual. Thanks to all the organizers!

And a huge extra thanks to Vince Wilson for letting Ben & myself drive the Z06 after the M3 sprung a massive exhaust leak on saturday. It takes a lot of trust to let someone else drive your car on a digby course. It was my first time driving something with RE71s and I really can't believe how sticky they are. And the Z06 felt like this:

Image

Very difficult to get the high speed sweepers and pin turns correct when everything comes at you so fast.

Unfortunately the gopro died so I don't have Ben's 96 flat scratch time or my code brown event. So here's my 2nd run:

Nice shots Evan!

...You even blanked out the NB front license plate, what a pain that must be to do?

Great organization, course, conversation, and people. Spectacular job to all those involved, the only thing that could have been better was the weather on Saturday. Thank you!

As long as I'm not doing many, it doesn't take too long to obscure. If you zoom in, the plate location will look suspiciously like part of the corner grilles to the left of it
