So, hypothetically speaking, rear seat removal would immediately bump a Street car into Street Modified, correct?

According to everything I've read, that seems to be the case. If you're going to make a move to SM, a supercharger for the Cooper might be more effective ;-P

But I know you simply can't be that desperate to gain an advantage over my Fiesta!

That is the first class that I can find allowable rear seat removal.

You go to SM if you remove the backseat, and somewhere in Prepared if you start removing other interior pieces.

Front seat swaps are allowed when you get to Street Touring, each class grouping has a specific set of restrictions.
