Supplemental Regulations for Aug 14, 2013 AutoSlalom #6 - ASCC Club Event

Location: Scotia Speed World, near Halifax International Airport, Halifax NS

Organizer: ASCC Solo Committee, Trevor Gray, Joel Nelson, and George Sheppard
Course Set Up Workforce: ***Volunteers Needed
Timing and Scoring: James and Charlotte Partridge, and Krista
Registrar: Brian Jarvis/Debbie Miller or Charlotte Partridge
Chief Scrutineer: Trevor Gray
Safety Steward: Joel Nelson
Entry Fee: $20.00 (for members of an ARMS-affiliate club).

Schedule:

1600: Gates open. Volunteers are asked to arrive.
1630: Registration and Scrutineering Open.
1730: Registration and Scrutineering Closed.
1735: Drivers meeting.
1740: "Official" course walk/drive.
1800: First car starts.

In order for this to run efficiently, we need to follow this schedule precisely.

Registration will be closed at 1730 on the dot.

Insurance: As required by ARMS, provided by ASN Canada FIA. Waiver to be signed by all persons on-site.

Regulations: This event will be held under the General Competition Rules of ARMS, and the Atlantic Sports Car Club event regulations. This is the 6th event of the 2013 ASCC club Autoslalom season.

Absolutely no speeding or reckless driving around the site will be tolerated. Driving behavior during the event will be discussed at the drivers meeting

Notes:

The ASCC has SSW rented from 1600-2000. Therefore the schedule as shown above will be STRICTLY enforced.
If we do not have time for every car to run 4 runs, your time will be scored on your first 3 runs.

Run/Work Groups:

All cars must have their competition number and class displayed on both sides of their car for the benefit of the Paddock Marshall and the Timing and Scoring staff.

Cars will be organized into run groups of roughly equal numbers by class. Depending on turn out, all “stock” and “super stock” cars in one group, all “street prepared” and “modified” cars in the other. Cars with more than one driver will be run in the middle and end of each group.

Work groups will be called by the car number of competitors who are required to work. Everyone will work at least once as assigned by the Organizer. Competitors are reminded to report quickly to their workstations in order to ensure quick turn around. Failure to report for work assignment will result in forfeiture of points and any remaining runs. The work assignment list will be available from the Organizer and the Paddock Marshall.

Directions:

-Take Exit 6 off Hwy 102
*North bound 102 take left at top of Ramp and then take a left at end of road.
*South bound 102 straight ahead at Stop sign top of ramp
-Go past Air Flight Museum
-Go past Airport Hotel
-Turn left into large parking lot of Scotia Speed World
-Proceed to the gates to enter the track

If marriage proposals can be done during slalom you should be able to swing an anniversary.

Damn, that's how I should have done it. Would be much easier to get her to come to slaloms after that too.

"Officer, looking at my sticky tires, crazy camber, number and class stickers, that orange cone wedged in my front grill, and the helmet you'll find this very hard to believe, but I am really in a rush to get to my baby's delivery." :D

I will do my best to be there. I won't know until Wednesday morning though.

Great event! Thanks to all the usual suspects. Started on time, finished early, lots of fast times. See you in 2 weeks.

I think this is the fastest I have moved at a slalom in a while :D

I figured I had better comment on this before Brian P does.

On a more serious note, thanks to everyone for coming out!

Thanks for the pictures kevin. We all love seeing them. Scott did a great job. Been getting faster every event. I tried my best on the last run but just couldnt keep it clean. Nice to see the top 2 cars paxed top 2 as well. Evan paxed 3rd, good job. Thanks Ben Brown for helping with course set-up. Trevor and I couldnt have done it as quickly without the help. 18 competitors is a bit low for SSW, but consider the weather and it was a good turnout. Hope to see you all plus some more on the 28th at SSW.

Congrats to Scott again on great driving. It was only a matter of time before he got an FTD.

Jon M. Run 4

Ben vs Jon split screen. Jon had me beat most of the way. 8O

Kevin, Love your photos. Especially Trevor's expression. Any of the blue Civic? I love having a new desktop background whenever you come to an event! Maybe I'll have to wash it before next event

Thank you Evan.
Check the above post...not the most exciting of shots but I was rusty!!

Now this shot is interesting to me...look at the difference in wheel heights, front to back...now remember this is a "banked" track...hmmm 8O
It must be the "black art" at work...Physics I tell you...maybe even Quantum string theory...run and don't make eye contact!!!
