hey everyone

what's the closest supermarket / grocery store where I can pickup such cold-cuts or ready made salads etc from the airport.

also if I wanted to wash down my car, are there any water hoses on site or would I need to seek out a commercial car wash (and if yes, which is the closest one)

cheers,

Theres a superstore or sobeys just 5 min up the road from slemon, plus loads of fast food and restaurants. Pretty sure i saw a drive-thue car wash there as well.

There is an Atlantic Superstore at 535 Granville St in Summerside (less than 10 minutes drive away) and I suspect car washes as well. It is a reasonably sized place (in Maritime terms anyway!) and you should be able to google whatever you need. There is also a convenience store a 5 minute walk away. I doubt there is a hose on site that can be used but cannot say for certain.

Will you be washing out the giant dent?

FWIW, we'll have lots of cleaning supplies on hand you're welcome to use Serge.

Tire warming 24year old BFGoodrich R1's may take a while

I think the tires on the rear were actually on the car when I ran it in the late 1990's? at Nationals in Sanair:

I'm glad the 'ol girl is getting to stretch her legs again (the car ...not you, Adam)

Stacy if you would just put some fresh rubber on the old girl I am sure it would be a top 10 car. I tried to convince wade to burn them off at Saint John but he wanted to keep his ride. Lol

I wish. Actually I got a number of a guy that knows a guy and basically someone named "Yuri" might help me make it less of an eyesore for not much money.. we'll see.

as for the cleaning supplies thank you for the offer! Hopefully I won't have to use too much.

I just finished Rain-X'ing all my windows and gave the car a nice scrub at a coin-op.

so hopefully the bugs will come off easy once I get on the island.

I'm locked, stocked and ready to rumble

see ya'll in a few days.

I plan to come through fairly early, I'd probably pass through Halifax around 8am.

I think a few of us are going for the 8 AM ferry to PEI. If your looking for a nice boat ride and breakfast.

I have decided to do the test and tune so we are planning to get there earlier then I was last thinking.

We'll be on the ferry too. That should get us there by 11:30, probably earlier (Google says 2 hrs, but 125kms). Leaving Halifax around 5:30 (get to ferry by 7:30)

I'm leaving my place no later than 9am. If I leave work early then it will likely be around 7:30. Taking the bridge.

Man, you guys are all over the board for leaving times. The ferry would be cool, I'll have to see if I can drag my ass out of bed that early. Did you prebook or just planning to show up?

I am planning to catch the 8am ferry as well, leaving from Antigonish around 6- 6:30. As far as booking or 'reserving a spot,' I dont know about the others but I plan on returning via the bridge as it is cheaper. According to the website, reservations are only allowed if you will be purchasing a round trip ticket for the ferry.

going through Moncton towards the bridge, is it faster to keep going south and then back up on the 16th or to go a bit north on to 15th and follow that along the coast?

Looks like a good field of cars for the event and I couldn't help notice that Ralph's Audi is only described as a TT and not the TT RS that it is, also it looks like a Legends car will make an appearance...damn this looks like a good time on the island.
Is anyone going to be taking high end video of this event with multiple camera locations ???

I was very seriously considering this, and doing a sort of SCCA national (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FjQyIxA419Q) style video. The only issue is that I shoot all primes. If someone wants to find me a 70-200, I would absolutely do this. A second shooter would make it easier, but it's still very attainable provided they assign me this job and not a worker station. The other aspect that would make it work even better would to have everyone send in as much gopro footage as possible. Easy to fill 4-5 minutes with that alone.

Matt...Harold Merklinger will be there as usual taking still pictures of everyone and Gordon is going over with his equipment so together you could probably get some nice footage to create that Video....come on you can do it !!

...the people who have to stay home would really appreciate that. :D

I've got a Canon 70-200 I could bring along if you'd like to borrow it. Let me know ASAP as I'm not bringing my gear and will need to put it aside tonight.

Also, shoot an email off to val@speedsterguy.com (Valeriano, #102 in CS) as he does a bunch of video for us at local events and I'm sure he'd be willing to help out.

Slightly faster on the #15 as it's four lane till past Shediac ...but once you hit single lane it stays that way all the way to Summerside and just takes one farmer Jed and his wife in their camper van to hold the whole works up :?

From the traffic circle on during the long weekend is a game of peek-a-boo trying to pass ...and usually gets you no farther ahead
