Hi everyone, It’s the moment you have been waiting for HPDS 2024!

Before I get to the HPDS details, there are a few things to cover:

First: Lunch will be provided and is included with your registration fee. We will have lots of water available on site. If you have any food allergies or dietary restrictions please let us know when you contact us.
Second: Full payment for the school will be due by May 15th. If you don’t pay by this date, the next person on the waiting list will be contacted.
Third: Previously approved HPDS registrants who were unable to attend have priority for registration in 2023 and were already contacted.

The ASCC High Performance Driving School for 2024 will be held during the long weekend on Sunday May 19th and Monday May 20th, 2024. This session is open to anyone who wants to learn some of the more advanced techniques and track safety to qualify for a Lapping card or Time Attack license for the 2024 season. A lapping license is required to attend any ARMS lapping events, and a Time Attack License is required for the 2024 ARMS time attack events.

1. ABOUT THE SCHOOL

The High-Performance Driving School will take place starting with an evening classroom session on Sunday May 19th followed by an all-day track session at Atlantic Motorsport Park on Monday May 20th. This course consists of a classroom session instructing students on the theory and physics of high-performance driving as well as track safety. The following day consists entirely of on-track activities with small groups of students paired to experienced instructors.

We have approximately 30 spots available subject to instructor availability. If we have to reduce student numbers due to instructor availability, affected people will be informed asap and receive a full refund. Affected students will be placed on the waitlist for the first available school they can attend.

2. COST

The school will cost $300. If signed off by an instructor at the end of the school, this also includes a lapping or time attack license. In order to attend the school you must be a member of an arms affiliated club $30 is required to purchase a club membership (details on clubs are included below).

3. WHAT YOU NEED TO BRING

A safe street vehicle. If your vehicle can pass MVI it should be ok for the on-track sessions. Vehicles will be inspected for suitability (Brakes, Tires, etc) prior to the session. It is highly recommended that you flush/bleed brake fluid before the event and do not use pads at less than 50% thickness. Unsafe or cars not properly prepared will not be permitted on the track.

Convertible vehicles are NOT permitted without adequate rollover protection; factory rollover protection is not enough so please check with the organizers. Please contact the organizers with questions regarding vehicle suitability. Students will be asked to complete a self-inspection checklist provided prior to the course, your instructor will also help cover these items during the track day.

A Snell 2015M or newer 'M' rated helmet is acceptable, provided the car is not equipped with a roll cage or racing slicks. Cars with cages and/or slicks will require a Snell 2015 or newer 'SA' rated helmet. ‘DOT’ helmets are not approved. If you have an SFI, ECE, or FIA rated helmet it may qualify, check the link below. If in doubt please ask, we are happy to help.

Approved helmets and identifications

If you do not have access to a helmet please contact the organizers as loaner helmets may be arranged with advance notice. ASCC has a limited number of loaner helmets so it is first come, first serve.

4. WHAT YOU NEED TO FILL OUT

Below are the forms you need to read and understand. If you can fill out the forms beforehand it will be very helpful. We will have forms on hand so they can be filled during the classroom portion.

A. SoloSport Self Tech Form must be filled out and completed day of track session

B. License Application Form (Leave instructor only section blank)

C. ARMS Annual General Waiver (electronic waiver) http://ascc.speedwaiver.com/zkbhw
