After a summer break, we are ready to get back to the iRacing Enduros! Assuming that people want to come out, of course!

As with the other enduro races, they have several start times (which I will grab when they make the official announcement) but the one I would like to go for is the 8AM EDT start on Saturday.

The race is 394 laps long, or roughly 10 hours and 34 minutes since I believe it is first to 1000 kms arond Road Atlanta. The car choices for the race will be the Corvette DP, and the German GT3 cars as with other IMSA races.

As a preliminary step, who is interested?

EDIT: Initial times below

0800-1030: Art McEwan?
1030-1230: David Janes
1230-1415: Trevor Mack
1415-1630: Ryan Quinn?
1630-1830:?

I'd like to try some of these endurance races with you guys if you'll have me. I'm not the fastest but with enough prep time I can run clean consistent laps.

I'm generally available mostly in the evenings but with enough notice I can often clear up a daytime slot.

You are more than welcome to come along, Dave. Speed only matters so much, the secret is to make it to the end alive. All of us, from Brian to Scott to me have had incidents which had dropped us several laps back (I think Ken is the only one who's actually avoided serious crashes during these races  ) so really, it's for the fun. We just beat who we can and make a good showing :).

The most popular session is usually the 8am EST/EDT race on the Saturday, but the races are long enough that you can jump in whenever.

According to my lovely wife i'm good to go for the 24th.

I'm thinking 1 hour shifts depending on fuel windows and driver count.

If we're voting on cars I just bought the BMW Z4 for the league races so that's my pick but I'm open to getting whatever's needed.

In the past we usually did 2 hours stints, so you would do one complete stop and then continue. Again, that can be changed around and nothing is ever set in stone. I one did three hours, 1.5 hour, or 4 hours at a go!

Normally in these events we go with the highest level we can, which for Petit Le Mans is the Corvette DP. If other people come out for another option I certainly don't mind; I treat this like a democracy.

Anyone else have a preference for car?

Yeah, it's all about survival for me. Managing traffic is what keeps me from losing focus. For the record I've had mishaps, just lucky enough to not hit anything really hard so far.

Of the cars mentioned I only have the DP but I need to pick up a car to replace the RUF for the GT3 series anyway. Either way should be fun, just depends on whether you like to be the one flashing the lights or looking for flashing lights in the mirrors.

Invariably, all of us are going to have a spin/crash/nudge of some type. Road Atlanta is not a big track and some people really aren't considerate when passing and lapping, so as the saying goes 'sh!t happens'

I'm going to lean towards the DP for consistencies sake. If anyone has a strong opinion otherwise make it known.

Alright everyone, so here is where we stand:

Car is the Corvette DP, just so we can be the lappers, not the lapped. Avoid tangling with angry rednecks (Scott...)

Race starts at 0800 EDT with a 30 minute warmup, so the actual start is at 0830. The race is 10 hours, so it will be ending at 1830 EDT.

So with that in mind, here we go:

0800-1030:
1030-1230:
1230-1430:
1430-1630:
1630-1830:

Let me know which slot you want, and if you have a set up you like. I believe I have mine from the IMSA series still kicking around, so I will share it when I can.

Any of those middle shifts are good for me. I'd rather not start or finish though. I'm ok with whatever set-up you guys decide on.

Sorry Dave, I'm a bit slow to get things done. Here is my setup from the last time I ran at RAT. Give it a test, see how you like it. If you want to make changes, feel free!

The setup is great.
Also. How many incident points are you allowed for the race and does it count per driver or per team?

Unlimited incident points. But any you accrue count against your our safety rating.

There is no iRating adjustment in team races though.

I'm not sure of my availability yet. Should know closer to the weekend.

I generally assume you'll be too busy playing with your TNT buddies to ever bother with the little ol' Regulars

If you want Dave, I'll put you in the 1230-1430 timeslot. Remember, those times are in Eastern time, so for us in NS that would be 1330-1530.

Thanks Scott and Ryan.

I wont beat up my/our SR too bad. :)

The 1:30 to 3:30 shift works for me but the 11:30 to 1:30 might be better. It lines up with my daughters nap time.

Also, do I need to use any special paint? Do we use any other Voice coms like Teamspeak or Discord? Do I need to sign up anywhere?

Have I asked too many questions yet? :D

No such things as too many questions, Dave. Makes your life easier in the end. And don't worry, the loss to SR is only yours, so you can only wreck your own stats, hahahaha.

I will throw you in to the 11:30 to 1:30 slot then. Things should have settled in by that point in time, so it should be mostly about not hitting the poor GT cars.

Paint is assigned by team, so that part is already covered. Scott has already assigned one for the car.

I have thought about setting up a discord server for the team, but I don't know how many people would actually be up for using it. It would be a useful place to have this kind of central discussion. I'm getting tired of flipping between this forum and Yahoo (eww).

I'm going to see about getting that Discord server up. I think it's about time the Regulars jumped in to the 21st Century.

If you got a moment Dave, you can be the next test mule for getting in to Discord.

Make sure to make an account, but when it prompts to make a server, just hit 'skip'

Art shared a setup yesterday, and I took it for a spin today. I liked it, but didn't like the off throttle understeer from the diff. So I made a small change.

Test it out, see how you go.

So, I got it wrong. I went off the wrong information in the PDF which said the races started at 8am EST. Of course, we're not in Standard time at the moment and the race starts at 1300 GMT...so basically everything moves an hour ahead from what I had it.

I'm sorry everyone, I only noticed because the race times have come online and I saw.

Let me know what you can and can't do and I'll adjust accordingly. I booked the whole day off, so I can stand in for anyone.

NEW TIMES, EDT:

0900-1130:
1130-1330:
1330-1530:
1530-1730:
1730-1930:

Again, sorry everyone. I dropped the ball on that one.
